If your ortho pulled teeth that they should not?

#1 Post by BrandieMarie »

What would you do, & how would you react.
I'm still trying to take all of this in and figure out what the heck went wrong.
I started with one highly reccomended, 3rd generation professor at the dental college, and head over the dental college committee.
He has a private dental practice locally and everyone goes there.
I have to admit I had a horrible 13 mm over-bite and crowded overlapped teeth on bottom,
But he want 2 of my molars pulled on bottom (heathy teeth).
After 3 yrs I switched orthos cause I got tired of no progress along with some other things.
This ortho said that gaps that large cannot be closed.
But he is closing the gap on top from another extraction "Dr before" ordered.
And he's made wonderful progress in a little time pulling my over-bite back.
Now everyones like its no big deal just have implants or bridges. ~~Huhhhh~~
I have to spent $6000+++ to fix something that wasn't broken?
So what would some of you do?
Or has this happened to anyone else, if so, what was the out-come.
I'm going to post photos shortly to show everyone the gaps I am left with and why I cry every time I go to the dentist now.

I'm sorry to hear about your extractions :(
Maybe you try to seek compensation from your previous orthodontist.

Did you give him permission to extract the teeth?

There isn't really anything you can do now. I had one molar extracted many years ago, long before braces, and I will need a bridge once I am done because the space was there for too long.
I know bridges are old school but when compared to the price of implants, I will take a bridge any day!
