Braces are making front teeth wonky

#1 Post by misswonky »

Hi, new to the forum. Basically my braces are making my 2 front teeth wonky when they were the only 2 perfectly straight before. I've worked out that the bracket on one is slightly higher than the other, which is probably the cause.
My dentist says they should even out but I don't think he's looked properly. Am due to go back again in 3 weeks - not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

HI,

How long have you had your braces?

Over my 21 months in braces, my teeth have changed many times, good and bad. It is amazing how one day they look great- then I wake up the next day and I wonder who's mouth I am looking in. Since I am towards the end, things are looking great.

I wouldn't worry too much!

I've learned from reading here and my own experience that so many things are going to change for the good and the bad throughout the whole process...so I just go with the flow and let my ortho work his magic. After all, what's the worst thing that can happen...he'll just correct "whatever" at the end if it's not right. It's totally normal for you to feel this way, just don't waste your energy worrying about it. My ortho told me at my 1st adjustment. "1,000 things need to happen from start to finish and we're on #50". Makes sense to me.

Thanks, hope that is the case. I'm only 5 weeks into treatment (6 month smile) they were starting to look great then the front teeth started looking awful. Was going to go in there tomorrow to query it but don't want to seem neurotic so will probably wait until next visit then mention it. Im trusting that he knows what he's doing!
