First check up since being braced

#1 Post by TnC »

I went today and they changed my ligs and scheduled me for my bottom braces. They get put on the first week of October. They assured me that progress is being made even though I may not see it, yet. One month down, only about 23 to go!

They warned that I will probably have more discomfort with the bottom braces due to shorter roots. I guess only time will tell since I've had no problems yet.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me, so I am assuming this is normal. I am getting my bottom braces next week. Are you getting molar build ups as well to open the bite?
Had full mouth metal braces for 21 months. Debonded April 2013. Now wearing clear plastic retainers every other night.

I have no formal dental or orthodontic education. Hence, all opinions expressed by me on this forum are those of an "informed consumer" and by no means intended as an expert advice.

Yeah, I'll get molar build ups when they go on. He also said they are going to "reshape" my teeth by removing some enamel between my teeth. Sounds like I'm going to have a busy appointment in October.

Sounds a little similar to when I first started. I had my uppers put on in mid Nov then the lowers at the start of Feb, I also had to have molar build ups because my upper teeth were bashing on the lower brackets due to my deep bite (overbite). Luckily they weren't needed for too long!
