Hi everyone, I have a question for those of you with hawley retainers. I just got mine today and was shocked by how much my speech was afected by them! Will it get better? If not, I might have to seek out an alternative since my job requires me to be speaking with people all day long. This is really frustrating!
You should sound fairly normal in under a week, and sound perfectly normal in two. The best thing to do is to talk as much as possible this weekend. The more you talk, the faster your body will train itself to manipulate the tongue properly with the retainer in.
