Muscle Fatigue

#1 Post by staje »

I'm in braces and an expander 3 weeks tomorrow. Yesterday I noticed that the muscles in my face feel fatigued and they feel that way again today. I find it really odd since I have not had an adjustment and the last time expanded was 5 days ago. The muscles that feel tired are between my cheekbones and my mouth and around the joint between upper and lower jaw.

Anybody else experience this? Ideas to help those muscles recover?

Hi Staje,

I experienced muscle fatigue in my jaws when I first received braces. However, mine subsided after a couple of days. If in doubt, I would not hesitate to call my orthodontist with any questions or concerns. Hopefully, yours will go away soon too. :D
