Re: Inman aligners
Hi everyone... I was wondering if anyone knows if there are Inman aligners offered in Asia? Particularly in the Philippines? I badly want one :(

Re: Inman aligners
Hi. Have just found this forum, following a google about the inman aligner. Now into week 3 of mine. Have wound it on 3 times and its now quite tight on my side teeth. Not doing the John Merrick Elephant Man slurp so much now, but speaking is still a chore. Hope it eases off soon.
Will report back soon. If anyone has any hints or tips please pm or email me. Thanks,
Martin

Is the Inman Aligner only available in the UK?
Re: Inman aligners
Never mind...I found some posters with it from elsewhere but there is no delete button for my post.

Congrats TraceT! You must be so pleased! Hope you're smiling widely at everyone now.
I got my aligner yesterday (for my bottom teeth), and I'm having some pain where the two plastic sections at the side, which sit inside my teeth and rest on my gums, are rubbing my mouth. Especially on the left side something is digging in so that when I take my brace out there is a very sore dent there, and it's making it pretty agonising to put my brace in and snap it down onto my gums. Has anyone else had this issue? Will my gums 'toughen up' a bit, or should I call my dentist?
Otherwise all seems to be going well, my teeth are starting to ache a little, but nothing too bad, and the wires at the side aren't digging in to my cheeks like I feared. I looked through a book of success stories in the waiting room and all the pictures were so beautiful I can't wait to have lovely straight teeth!

Re: Inman aligners
Just giving an update...had my 9 week check up on wed and the dentist says iv not got long to go now. Im at the stage now where I can't wait to be done. I'm fed up having the aligner in my mouth and although my speech is a lot better than it was to start with, it's still not sounding normal which is starting to annoy me a bit. Although, other people do comment on how they hardly notice it anymore. I can't say enough how much my teeth have changed in the small amount of time. The Inman is an amazing brace. Not long now!

Re: Inman aligners
I'm 44 had my aligner fitted yesterday....I have 19 weeks to go until I can finally smile with confidence.
Sorting out my crooked teeth was a long time coming. When I was young we couldn't afford it and when I hit my 20's and 30's I'd kind of just gotten used to them being crooked.....but when I hit my 40's and started to see the ageing affects set in around my eyes, not to mention an extra chin and bingo wings I decided it's now or never to sort it all out.
So, changed my diet and lost 11kg's, I have recently gone vegetarian and joined a gym in a bit to be healthier.....and drop a few more lb's, am considering a bit of Botox to help smooth out some wrinkles here and there....but need further research....and lastly but definitely not least, I am soon to have the bright white, straight toothed smile I have really always dreamt of.
So far all seems fine. I can feel pressure on my teeth but they aren't hurting as such.....except for when I brushed them this morning and my front 2 did feel a bit bruised or tender but nothing too dramatic.
One thing I am doing, besides lisping, is slurping.....I have this feeling that spit is up between the aligner and the roof of my mouth and I have a constant urge to suck it up or slurp....such a gross description but I am wondering if others have this....and does it subside?
Anything I should expect as I progress through my dental treatment? Any helpful hints?
Thanks in advance.
xoxo

Re: Inman aligners
Day 3 and my two front teeth are killing me when I take the IA out or pop it back in....hopefully this will ease up.
I am still slurping and lisping and my friends think it's totally hysterical.
People at the gym and the park where I walk my dog every morning are interested to know more about the IA, it appears others in their 40's and 50's are still interested in fixing their crooked teeth too.
I can't wait to get to the 2 week mark and go back and see my dentist and check the pics to see how much movement I have had.
Shall keep posting my progress just in case anyone is reading and maybe I will post something in my experiences that others are feeling too.
Feel free to ask me any questions and as I progress through my treatment, I shall answer if I possibly can.
May the Gawds of the Perfect Smile be with you always:-)

Re: Inman aligners
Hello...what clinic in Glasgow are u going to? I'm also in Glasgow at kalyani dental lounge. I have my 11 week appointment tonight and hopefully will be done soon.
The pain when putting in and taking the aligner out definately goes away. I was in agony for a few days then it just stopped (I actually worried that I'd broken the aligner as the change was so dramatic but I hadn't). It will also be quite sore to eat but that will also go away.
The slobbery feeling gets better too but I wouldn't say it completely disappears, neither does the weird speech but it's so worth it when u start to see the movement!!
Good luck!! X

Re: Inman aligners
I'd say I probably started to see a bit of movement at the 2 week stage but I could feel a tiny difference when running my tongue along my teeth after about a week. I think it all just depends on how quick your teeth move. Do u think you'll manage to wear it 20hrs a day? Iv tried to stick to that as much as possible but have taken it out for any nights out etc.
Had my 11 week appointment last night and she says at my next visit I'll be done and she will look at retention. YAY. Would upload some pics but don't know how x

Re: Inman aligners
So I went back to the dentist after nearly four days of agony, and I wish I'd gone back a lot sooner. The plastic sections were digging into the inside of my gums, and I persevered for so long that I developed sores there, and it was absolute agony clipping my aligner back in or taking it out. I had my brace filed down, and had to not wear it until my mouth had healed. Two weeks later (and two more trips to get more filed off) and I am now finally wearing it without agonising pain. My front teeth are starting to ache a bit, and when I put it back in just now that was pretty painful - which I am hoping is a good sign!
Last time I kept getting my tongue caught, which was pretty sore, but I think the four days of wearing it and trying to avoid my tongue have done some good, as I seem to know where to keep my tongue now! I'm really excited to see how quickly my teeth move - feels like I've had it for ages since I've had it for nearly three weeks already, though I'm really only on day two of wearing it properly...
