Re: Inman aligners
Hello
After having spent most of my life hiding and running away from cameras I am finally going to get braces fitted to my two front teeth buck teeth. Think that I will go for the Inman aligners but I would just like to ask a few questions to anyone who has had these fitted or dentist.
What is a retainer do you to wear these after the brace is removed for ever or before the IA is fitted. Getting them in and out is this quick as I have to use the phone a lot if i have to quickly remove them?
Does this have an effect on your cupids bow on your lip afterwards when the brace is finished with (I was told this off my last dentist who wasn't the most diplomatic)?
As my teeth aren't the most healthiest how long do you need to have treatment on gums (I know every case is different) before these are fitted?
I'm a novice at getting dental treatment but need to get a grip of myself now and I want to have a smile I can be happy with.

Hi Nikki, there Is some way of posting the pics on here. Not sure how though, if not I'll email them.
Hi Rolotree. A retainer is worn after the brace to hold your teeth in position. You can have either a thin metal wire permanently bonded to the back of your teeth or a plastic gumshield which you need to wear every night forever. The Inman takes literally about 5 seconds to put in and take out once your used to it. I'm not sure about the cupids bow or the treatment to your gums. Hope it goes well!

Thats great, I'm glad your having such an easy time! I didn't need the expander first (must have a big enough mouth to start with lol). But iv heard people who have it normally don't need the actual aligned for quite as long? So that's good. Can't figure out how to put pics on here so I'll email them next time I'm on my computer x
Re: Inman aligners
Well thats good news if i don't have to have the actual IA on for as long !!! woke up this morning and can feel the pressure in my mouth iv got to keep this space creating one on for 24 hours per day tho only take it out briefly to eat and drink !!! Have a big night out on sat as well so going to try my very best to keep it in most of the night lol fingers crossed as my speech is really bad lol !!! yeah that will be great :D there is only 1 good video on the full internet on youtube from start to Finnish but the girls teeth look amazing near the end ! but my case is different as my 2 front teeth r crossed anyway good luck with your treatment hope you get the smile you have waited for :D xx

Re: Inman aligners
Hi I am new to the this site and so glad I found it. Had my Inman aligner fitted 2 days ago and am finding it hard going. The tip of my tongue is really sore and the side of my mouth getting cut. i have put wax over the sharp edges which my Dentist advised me to do but it is only helping a bit. My speech is still quite bad and am trying to sing nursery rhymes to get my mouth used to it, my poor family lol. I work in a school and am dreading trying to speak to the children tomorrow as I am sure that they will take the mickey!! However, on the positive side I do feel that my front tooth is moving as it feels really uncomfortable and tender. I am trying hard to keep it in for the 20 hours but must admit when it is out it feels so much better but I will not give up as cost me a fortune to have it. Please does it get any easier?......

Re: Inman aligners
Hello, awww that's horrible for u. My aligner never cut my gums or tongue but I have heard the wax helps with that. Your speech will improve although it probably won't completely go away, people In work say they don't notice it much anymore (I'm 12 weeks in) but I can still hear it. The pain will subside, although try and think of it as a good thing as it means movement is happening! Hope things get better for you x
Re: Inman aligners
I have just been quoted £1800 for inman aligners.I knocked my front tooth a few years ago very slightly out of position. The dentist said the process would take around 3 months.I then called in to another practice and they gave me a quick quote of £1300 but there process would take around 12 months.Does this quote seem reasonable for inman aligners ?.

Thanks nikki, I'm Really pleased just one wee tooth which is not perfect yet. It's amazing what they can do in such a small amount of time.
I got mine for £995 but it was a groupon deal I got so that was quite lucky. I did ask how much they were without the deal and she said up to £1800 so it sounds about normal. Hope it goes well!

Thanks Nikki, the pain is much better and the wax is working quite well. My speech is a bit better and I am trying not to take it out only for eating and sometimes drinking as I slurp!!! I work in a school and teach phonics so it hasn't been easy but I decided to ask the children to bear with me and showed them my brace which they all thought was fascinating. One 5 year old told me my voice was better today so there is hope for me yet! My front tooth crosses slightly and it is definitely moving and is very tender to touch which is a good sign. The three teeth next to it are still bunched up but hopefully they will move later on. My IA cost me £2,200 which includes a retainer at the end. I think this is quite dear but I am getting a very good service from the dentist who is very kind and patient. I have opted for a 2 year interest free plan to take the sting out of the payment!!

Re: Inman aligners
I have just had another quote for £1500 but it says in the small print it is only an estimate where as the £1800 quote they have assured me that there will be no extras. Thanks for your replys.
Re: Inman aligners
Also how many of you went to more than one place to get quotes ?.
