first adjustment! (with pics)

#1 Post by Lexy »

Well, I had my first adjustment on Wednesday. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. It was a little uncomfortable, and I definitely had some soreness afterwards, but I didn't experience any pain.

My ortho said my teeth are coming along very nicely, and the assistant said I had excellent hygiene. Always good to hear those things!

Next adjustment, we start closing the extraction gaps, and to reduce the appearance of the "black triangle" between my two front teeth, my ortho is going to do some slenderizing. It's all so exciting!

Hey, thanks everyone!!

Yes, I'm smiling so much more. It's amazing what getting braces has done for my self esteem. I'm so comfortable with myself now. I no longer have to hide my mouth when I laugh or smile, or avoid talking to people because I'm worried someone might see what my teeth look like... I can just let it all out. It's such a wonderful feeling to finally be myself.
