Thanks Darrin,

I'm sure things will speed up for you, I think visual progress depends on what they're doing and in what order.
If they waited for my back teeth to come forward before straightening I'm sure they would look a lot worse but the extraction gaps would be in better shape.

I keep trying to see pics of people's progress as a bit of encouragement but it looks like I am too new to be allowed. Will keep on posting...

Yeah it's a bit annoying that rule! I think it's intended to keep people away with 'brace fetishes', there are some strange people out there!

WOW! Your teeth have changed so much and are looking great! I just had the same upper premolars extracted this Monday & I can't wait to go back to the ortho and get the full wire put back on to start the process of closing those ugly spaces.

I hope you get them off in time for your wedding, I delayed getting my braces until after my wedding since it was just a few months away :P

A bit of an update, had another adjustment today, 6 weeks from the last.

I also had the hygeinist clean everything and told me my teeth were being stained from corsodyl mouthwash!
My teeth were bleeding loads after this, also my teeth felt quite loose without the wire on which was quite scary!

Anyway now my teeth are the whitest they've ever been.

I had new wires in, and also some new type of ligs which go from my canines to my back teeth on hooks. These are not what I expected of elastics because I can't remove them they are tied down.

Latest pic of my teeth is below, the gaps are closing slowly but surely. I think with these new bands the gaps should close faster.

Sectional brace with Damon clear brackets fitted to front 6 upper teeth 3 January 2012
Brackets added to premolars 2 April 2012
Estimated treatment time originally 6-9 months. Brace removed on 22 July 2013 after 18 months and 19 days
Now enjoying bonded upper retainer plus part time essix/hawley( I have both)

Thanks Jem,

I forgot to add, since the last adjustment I have been having as much pain as I did in the first week! Maybe new teeth are being woken up due to these new bands but whatever it is, baguette was painful earlier!

Bit of an update really, so 2 gaps are closed and the other 2 are on the way! It's been 19 months now so fingers crossed the gaps should all be closed on the 2 year mark which is when I would HOPE to be finished, who knows!

Braces as Phase II treatment for TMJD.
Lower mandibular repositioning splint 26 months.
Lower braces on 10.75 months into Phase II treatment.
Duration in braces: 2 years, 2 weeks, 5 days
Removal of Braces: September 18, 2013
TMJD treatment now complete!
