I am 26 and will start by braces treatment in about a month.

I was 28 when I got my appliance at the bottom to fix my overbite, had it on for a year and a half, and I'm now 29 and got my actual braces on yesterday. 30 to 36 months sentence.

I'm getting upper and lower braces next month and I'm currently 23. :)

I'm currently 43 and have just started with Six Month Smiles.

Previously I had a load of orthodontic work done between ages 14 and 17 or so. All was fine until my wisdom teeth arrived and pushed things out of place.

Age 20 for me.

My dentist had told me for years that I could use braces but I would be fine without them too, and I never wanted to go through all of that ordeal.

Recently, though, one of my teeth started really bothering me (it rubs against my tongue when I talk) and I asked my dentist what could be done about it. He referred me to an orthodontist and she found several other problems with my teeth, most significantly my overbite.

I wish I had got braces back when I was in my early teens, but I can see from the large number of adults on this site that I'm not too late.

25! Went in for a consultation and walked out with braces. So happy I did it!

Just took the plunge at the jolly ol' age if 62. Always wanted to fulfill a dream, mainly for my looks - a beautiful smile; however, my dentist said I really needed braces to improve my alignment, before he can perform any restoration work...so yay, I finally did it - braces went on Jan.31/12. Anything is possible!

I got mine at 22 and probably going to be getting them again at 29. I wore my retainers religously every night and started getting protrusion and almost an open bite so I decided to quit wearing my retainers since they weren't helping. That was probably 6 years ago. Now I am unhappy with my overjet and some spacing so I am going to visit another ortho. and see about getting braces again and what we are going to do after to keep my teeth from moving again. I don't want to have braces 3 times in my lifetime! lol
