Different ways to tie ligatures?

Different ways to tie ligatures?

I had my first adjustment a couple of days ago, and I noticed my ligatures are attached differently. Is there a reason they did this differently than the first time? The picture showing black ligs was when I first got my braces on. The picture with light blue ligs was taken today.

Yes mine are more of a figure of 8 after the first adjustment, compared to an O before. Mind you, that's when they really started to move - and within just a few days!
1st Feb 2012 - extraction both upper 2nd premolars
Braced 9th March 2012 - lower metal fixed and upper removable plate
5th September 2012 - bite plate gone, upper ceramic fixed fitted
Estimated treatment time 18-24 months

I think the 8 shape is to help the wire to be held in tighter maybe
Not sure but that is what it seems like if the teeth where moving faster like that than the o shape
