Today was the big day!

#1 Post by pocketlint »

Got my upper braces today and I am loving them! Wasn't expecting the chain right off the bat but I swear it feels like that gap is already a bit smaller. My cheeks and tongue are not feeling raw from the buttons. Teeth feel really tight but the only problem I am having is that my left elastic keeps popping off, I've already eaten one accidentally!

I am so excited! Only 18 months to go! :jump:

Hey!

I got my upper braces today too! We're B-day buddies. A powerchain @your first appt, seems intense. How are you feeling now? I have no pain and I was braced over 12hrs ago.
Best of luck on your journey and I look forward to reading and seeing your progress:)

Congratulations! Though those do look painful.

How are you feeling now that it has been a few days? I didn't get powerchains till my first adjustment and for a week after it was very painful.

I hope you're having an easy time of it and good luck to you with your braces.

Thank you all for the welcomes and support guys! So glad I found this board, as everyone has been so nice! :-#)

So far, so good. I haven't had too much pain, mostly just odd pressure sensations that come and go throughout the day and some sensitivity. Eating is getting easier and I'm having a good deal of movement already! The worst part of it has been those damned buttons they installed on the inside, they have my tongue so scraped and raw! The molar buildups are kind of a hassle as well.

GillyWeed, how are you faring?

I hope you are all progressing well! Best of luck to all!

Holy cow, pocketlint! You have had an incredible amount of movement since your b-day. You must be soo pleased :-* My teeth don't seem to have budged at all *bummer* but the first adjustment is just a week away so fingers crossed that I will be getting some new "accessories" that will help to get these babies moving!
Your teeth look absolutely wonderful! When is your first adjustment??

WOW with that closure in one month with the small powerchain! I have been told that my teeth will be lined up a bit more first then the powerchain will be used to close my diastema-I hope mine closes quickly like yours :-)

I can hardly believe that the space between your teeth closed so quickly. I hope that I have the same results!
