Rubber Bands.

#1 Post by hopeless20312 »

I have mouth protrusion I think and Class II malocclusion. I think my dentist doesn't give rubber bands to fix overbite. What to do?

i have protrusion too and i dont have rubber bands...

Some orthos use rubber bands at difference stages in treatment.

Ask your ortho the next time. Or wait and see. I know people who started rubber bands almost to the end of their treatment..

You should ask your orthodontist what stage if at any time you will have to wear them. When I went for my consultation he told me I would have to wear them but it would not be until he did the x rays to know at which point bc he said some patients wear them in the very beginning. Im crossing my fingers that will not be me as I also have an over bite with some crowding at the bottom.

I had a class II malocclusion, elastics were used 1 year into treatment. Other factors need to be looked at before you can start with elastics. For some however it does get used at the beginning, totally depends on the patient's situation
