What is your number?

#1 Post by zdenka »

I will be wearing braces for about 18 months. It seems like forever right now... and I am hoping that it won't take any longer than that.

What about you?

I was told 6-9. Am currently at 5 1/2 with a fair amount still to do. So presumably 9+.
Sectional brace with Damon clear brackets fitted to front 6 upper teeth 3 January 2012
Brackets added to premolars 2 April 2012
Estimated treatment time originally 6-9 months
. Brace removed on 22 July 2013 after 18 months and 19 days
Now enjoying bonded upper retainer plus part time essix/hawley( I have both)

I was sentenced to 24 months :P I've done 12 so far and my ortho hasn't mentioned an end date yet so I'm assuming it'll be another 11!

30 months. Includes possible extraction, elastics and a frenectomy. 10 months in so far, and things are right on schedule. Would love to have them off early but not getting my hopes up. :p

12 to 18 months. First six for the major overhaul, then fine tuning and "customizing," as the ortho said this morning.

I have no idea what my number is..........I was originally doing a hybrid treatment with damons and invisalign, but have steered away from the invisalign and just gonna complete my treatment with damons....I am guessing that I will have my braces off by next summer....which will be about 18 months.....I have had them 8 already and time has flown by!

The quotes I got from my different consults range from 17-22 months. The ortho I'm going with says 19 months on my contract, but I'm expecting 2 years, just 'cause.

Records appt on Thursday!
Clarity self-ligating upper and lower
June 27, 2012--upper braces
TBA--lower braces
EBT (estimated brace time)--19 months

initially my orthodontist estimated 18 months - 2 years pre surgery, and then 6-12 months after. So far i've done 26 months before surgery, i have another 2.5 months before surgery and then a new estimate of 3-6 months after. You learn to be very patient during this journey!
