25 years of waiting.. and finally I get my braces on Wednesday
The last 3 years have been the worst, just being desperate but not having the finances. Anyway, I'm excited and a little nervous. Last week my dentist cleaned my teeth and they are so sensitive now, I might take a couple of paracetamols before I go I'm having Damons top and bottom and molar build-ups.
Good luck with your appointment and your big day. I am sure it will go smoothly and you will be pleasantly surprised at how quick and painless the appointment goes.
I am 24 and never dealt with my teeth, due to my previous extreme dental phobia and worried about even getting these braces on but I am so chuffed that I have done it , as I think the braces were my biggest fear as a child
Good luck on your BRACE DAY!! I will be getting mine next Thursday. Well the brackets and spacers and then the next week the bands and wires. I hope everything goes well for you!! Make sure to keep us posted and post pics!
Yippeee Cassandra!! I know what you mean!! I wanted braces so bad, but just had to get the finances together. And then brace day came and I haven't been one bit sorry.
At times it's challenging, but mostly in the beginning because it's a learning/getting used to thing. And then they are just a part of you--you take care of them with the same ease that you take care of all of your other personal stuff. Takes a little bit longer with braces, but sooooo worth it. When you start to see things change, you will be ecstatic!
Well that was interesting! The first couple of days have been mostly me getting used to them. It didn't hurt at all to have them fitted, but one of the bite turbos is hitting my new filling and that tooth is particularly sensitive. It hits it when I speak and when I don't expect it- ouch! Other than that, my lips are raw at the bottom but I've been using wax and I'm much more comfortable now. My teeth are sensitive, some more than others, and it's been a challenge learning to speak hehee! I had 2 buttons put on 2 of my lower teeth because there isn't enough room to get brackets on them yet because of the crowding.
I can ALREADY get floss between all my teeth for the first time! WOW!
My teeth feel kinda itchy, like when you have a loose tooth when you are a kid and you can't stop wobbling it I can't decide if it feels really nice or not haha.
I have had a few places where my lips are cut up, but they healed after just one day with wax. I couldn't get the wax to stick to the very back bracket at the bottom though, I just can't get it dry enough. No pain really to be honest so I'm really happy. My cleaning routine is taking me 45 mins before bed every night though. I just brush 3 times and use mouthwash a couple of times through the day then do a mega clean before bed.
Oooh I'll try to get hold of some of that wax. Although I'm mostly ok now, I expect it will bother me in other areas further down the line. YES I have a waterpik- I love it!
