Question about Central Incisors

#1 Post by bravesweety »

Hi All,
They last few days I've noticed that my top central incisors are moving a bit. Before I got my braces my two central incisors were lined up with each other. Now, however, it seems that one is sort of behind the other. In the past, when I felt the back of the front of my teeth with my tongue, I never felt a difference between the two teeth. Now, I can feel that one has moved either back or forward. I apologize if this is hard to understand, it's really hard to put it in words.

I guess what I'm wondering is, is it normal for teeth that were originally lined up to start to pull ahead/behind the adjacent tooth while wearing braces?

I'm only just over a month into treatment, so this is all new to me. Any information, would be appreciated :)

Yes, it's perfectly normal for ALL of your teeth to move around. That's how they'll get straightened out. Until you get braced, you'll be in a "worse before it gets better" situation. Frustrating, I know, but just think how awesome they'll look at the end!!

Thanks Cathy. I was thinking that, but I thought I'd ask anyway ;)
