Hi there.. not sure if should be posting in the specific forums, but here goes -
I have a huge overbite and molars crowding in my back teeth and the orthodontists that I've visited say Im a good candidate for invisalign. It sounded good at the time, but the thought of having those retainers look gross over time doesn't sit well with me. They mentioned normal braces too, but some google showed that there's lingual braces too which they didn't mention.
If someone is a good candidate for invisalign and normal braces, then would lingual braces be good too?
I felt so overwhelemed when visiting the orthos and didn't know what the right questions to ask were.. seems like I have to start from the beginning again after reading this site.
It's so frustrating! :(

Re: General qustions
Lingual braces take more training on the orthos part and need to be custom made for each person as the backs of your teeth are all different whereas the fronts tend to be pretty smooth and even. because of the extra work on the orthos part and the need for extra training not all of them offer lingual braces
16 months 1 week and 2 days in braces
12mm overjet and narrow jaws all fixed with braces and elastics.

Lingual will also cost quite a bit more. For moving teeth around there's nothing like brackets on the front of your teeth.
Re: General qustions
I guess those are out since I'm trying to keep things on budget as much as possible.

I got my lingual braces 4 weeks ago and it went all smooth, they are costly an requires experiences for the ortodontist but they are totally invisible and nobody notices I have braces at all. I had a list for about 2 days and sore tongue but all of it went after 2 days. My experience has been so far well with lingual. It's up to you which brace you get, I decided to get lingual as I deal with many customers in my work place and go to many social events so I preferred if the braces were out of sight.
