Normal visit, then:
First visit: wired didn't get clipped at normal appt. Could not handle it for a whole 6 weeks, went in to have it clipped.
Second visit: lost wire ties and 2 o rings, had them replaced as teeth were rotating without wire ties.
Third visit: lost o rings and wire ties again... Bracket disconnected from wire completely, tooth rotated.
All are legitimate visits... Are they going to get mad at me? It's not like I'm trying to destroy my braces!!! Bi feel like "that" patient
I think we all go thru periods like that...I've had a few where it seems like I've been in every other day...things happen... don't worry..it's all good...
It's ok ! Thats normal , sometimes it cant be helped , I broke my lace back without realising it so i ended going in every 2 weeks ....dont worry take it easy =)
Oh I am *that* patient. Got my top braces on and returned a day later with a bracket that popped off. Then 2 days later had 2 more pop off. Then just went back in yesterday for another that had popped off the bottom. It isn't really my fault. The brackets are on teeth that are crowns. The first 3 they didn't prep as crowns (their fault), this last one was my fault I guess, but still on a crown. I don't know what I'm going to for the duration of treatment, as I feel like I have to be super extra careful.
I've had weeks like that at all. My orthodontic office told me that I was welcome to come in as often as necessary. That is tough on me as I have to miss several hours of week every time due to travel time.
I had a "slippery" wire and kept getting pokies on a daily basis and needed them to move the wire back in place. Seriously, at one point over a period of 2 days, I had 1/4 inch of wire that had shifted out my right end. i think they got a bit tired of those visits and they finally taught me how to do my own adjustment. (I have self-ligating brackets.)
My "favorite" visit was for the bracket that went missing... figured I probably swallowed it. Quite an expensive swallow in my opinion.
Braces as Phase II treatment for TMJD.
Lower mandibular repositioning splint 26 months.
Lower braces on 10.75 months into Phase II treatment.
Duration in braces: 2 years, 2 weeks, 5 days
Removal of Braces: September 18, 2013 TMJD treatment now complete!
If things keep popping off, its probably not you, esp if your not doing anything to break them or the o rings. Maybe they are not curing them enough to keep them on.
