anyone get debanded earlier than expected?
my ortho originally gave me a sentence of 24 - 30 months, but in one of my recent appointments he told me my teeth were moving fast. (i'm at the 10 month mark now). does this mean i have a chance of getting them off early? if so, what is a reasonable amount of months that one might get subtracted from their original timeline & get their braces off early? probably usually not 6 months, but 4? 3?
Re: anyone get debanded earlier than expected?
At about the 5th month, my ortho told me that my teeth were moving "alarmingly fast". It's the bite issues that are seeming to take FOREVER....and then when they say "finishing" at least I've learned from here that it can mean another 6 months more or less....
I've finally quit getting my hopes up for an early release--but from reading this website, I'm finding just how different all of our cases are!!

Hello! I was quoted 18-24 months, and a few visits ago my ortho told me I should be done by Christmas, which will be the 18 month..not exactly 'early', but it's better than 24 months! We shall see..

I was originally quoted 18-24 months, but on Friday my ortho told me I will definitely have them off by Christmas this year, which will be about 13 months. Early release DOES happen sometimes, I guess it's just not common!

Re: anyone get debanded earlier than expected?
My estimated time was 23 months. I have had them about 1 year now this month and on my last appointment, my ortho told me that I would be getting my last set of wires and would only be a couple months after that when I would get my braces off. So I am looking at about January-February for a debanding date which will be 15-16 months.....not bad if you ask me.
Re: anyone get debanded earlier than expected?
Hi, I don't know if your experience will be similar to mine but after 6 months, my ortho said my teeth had moved much faster than expected. By 10 months, he said all we needed to do was to close one gap and that all was progressing very quickly. I thought I would be done in less than 2 years even though he had estimated 24 to 30 months. It has been 26 months and he said I can get my braces off at the next visit in 4 weeks' time if I am "happy" with everything. Hang in there, don't think about getting de-braced yet, but enjoy how much progress you are seeing.

I was quoted 28-32 months and got them off at 20 months. Just follow the orthos direction and if you have elastics wear them 24/7 or as instructed and change often.
