The open bite was definitely frustrating. My ortho was trying to avoid using crazy loop wires so he was adding torque to turn my teeth inward...well this caused my roots to start poking through my bone plate (basically I had these hard lumps on my gums). This kind of delayed everything by 4 months. Needless to say, I knew my teeth wouldn't be perfect - but I am pretty happy with the results. I can open a packet of ketchup with my teeth now! :lol: ...here is a comparison of the bite.

random stupid question - did your teeth look REALLY different the same day after you got your braces taken off? sorry if that makes no sense. I just can't picture my teeth without braces

Yeah, they did to me :mrgreen:

I've read that some people think their teeth look huge but for me in that split second when I walked to the mirror and smiled there was definitely shock factor of "OMG are those Myyyyy teeth?!?!" lol I know exactly what you mean, and I felt the same way but yeah they looked a lot different and that part hasn't worn off yet....

Brushing my teeth is a really odd sensation. I floss twice a day now just because it's so damn easy lol - It is taking some time to really sink in. 8)

Class II moderately deep overbite, mild crowding.
Braced on January 19, 2011. Debraced on December 16, 2013.
2 years, 11 months in braces.

Another before pic. You are right, they weren't as bad as some people...but that open and slanted bite was a pain in my orthos butt. lol

I really got braces to sort out my open bite which came on pretty quickly due to an ill fitting crown I received about a year prior. It really is hitting me now how jacked up my teeth really were. :shock:
