Oscar mines never clicks and its finished soon, the only click is if it hits off composite blob just position it as u were told, the click is nonsense haha.
Re: Inman aligners
oh ok, thats good to hear, didn't want that to prolong my treatment. He predicted mine to take 10 weeks, and ive done exactly 6.5 weeks. My lateral inscocors have only moved a touch they have to move alot more and my front two teeth are nearly straight but they still have to move slightly more.
Has anyone experienced alot of movement in their last 3 weeks of the IA?

Re: Inman aligners
Just had my 4 week check and the Dentist has placed a composite button on the front of my tooth and told me the front bar needs to sit below this, so now it's flush to the very edge of my teeth.......and there was I thinking my speech couldn't get any worse, how wrong could I be!!! I don't think I can see any difference since week 2, but he did more filing so there must have been some.

Hello everyone's
I had appointment on Thursday and was given my clear aligner to wear for one week then to go back on Thursday again, also started whitening which is cool, so have a separate tray for that! I'm so thrilled with the outcome I just love my new smile, it's not perfect yet just tiny bit of movement to go. Check out my journey on you tube.. Shikilives
I really think such a short thing can change you so much guys.. It almost seemed to good to be true that it works so quickly.
Good luck xx

Re: Inman aligners
Hi Vicky, I've just watched your you tube blogs and noticed the one about your cold sore problems. I have also suffered with this problem since I was young and 1 week into my treatment you guessed it, one appeared. I take a homeopathic remedy Rhus Tox 30c (I just get Boots own brand) and they work wonders (they are the size of a little sweetener tablet). Within 3 days the coldsore is gone. I was so pleased someone told me about these several years ago as they have been a godsend.
Your teeth look amazing on your last blog...........will you be posting another showing your end result?
I'm 4.5 weeks into treatment and told my dentist on Friday that I hadn't noticed any change since week 2 and that the front bar was only touching 1 of my front 6 teeth (my teeth are quite crooked I must add). He placed a composite button in the center of my front tooth (which is where the bar used to sit) and now the aligner just manages to sit along the bottom edge of my teeth (it's now touching 2 of my teeth though).
You mentioned about the back bar not being right when you first got your aligner and it had to go back to the labs to be readjusted. When I take my aligner out there is a gap between the front and back bar, but if I give it a nudge it does close up. I take it yours wouldn't close completely even after a little pressure??

Thank you turn bulls, I definitely will do another video for end result, thanks for watching. That sounds good for cold sores its a pain in the butt, can't believe you got one while using aligner I bet it hurts a lot! Ok as regards the way you have described the back bar that sounds problem like I had, is the back bar a lot thinner than the front bar?if you haven't had any movement this early on it sounds like you might have same problem as me. Are you able to send a picture of the brace to me so I can tell if its like my old one before?xx

Re: Inman aligners
Hi, I have been reading this thread for a few weeks now and it was really helpful in deciding to go for the IA. I have followed your journeys with interest and thought I would share mine :)
My right front tooth is significantly behind the rest of my front teeth and it has bothered me for years. I am getting married in March and my dentist suggested the IA as a treatment that could be completed for my wedding (currently 16 weeks away). My bottom teeth are also crooked, but that doesn't bother me, so I don’t have any plans to get the IA on my lower teeth.
My consultation was on 22nd November, and I went ahead with the impressions on that day. I got my IA yesterday and have suffered a few of the common issues, pain on taking the device in and out, sensitive front teeth and my tongue is very sore from sucking the spit from the bar behind my teeth. My speech isn't too bad, people can understand me so I have jumped in at the deep end and am wearing the aligner all the time apart from eating and brushing. My lisping gets much worse when I am tired though. The tooth filing was awful, mainly because she seemed to catch my gum quite a lot, thankfully I knew what to expect - the dentist has told me almost nothing!
I am on day 2 now, and I have to say that I am already pleased with how much my worst tooth seems to have moved. My next appointment is in 4 weeks, the dentist has said that my recessed tooth will have moved all the way forwards by then and she can move on to the next bit. I am not entirely sure what is next as I only ever wanted my recessed front tooth brought in line with the others.

Re: Inman aligners
A great visit to my dentist this morning. I am now on week 10 He was very excited to see my teeth and the progression over the last two weeks. To be honest I hadn't noticed that much as I have been studying one tooth in particular willing it to move but there has been lots of change across the front. He said that this was the first week that he couldn't recognise my teeth compared to the first visit/molds, its made my day.
More filing and one new composite button on the back of the incisor I'm willing to move Hopefully that gets it moving with the extra pressure.
Great to see your YouTube videos Vicky. Your teeth look fantastic. I can't wait for the clear aligner stage .. not long hopefully.
Hi Ruth, well done for taking the plunge. You'll have perfect teeth come March. It sounds like you are having the common issues in the first week, hang in there it does get better. I ask my dentist lots of questions at each fortnightly visit and get good answers back so ask away as it sounds like yours isn't being forthcoming.
Thats so great you are seeing movement already on day 2 and in four weeks for it to be forward completely is brilliant. Obviously I havent a clue but I would imagine that the overall curve shape of your teeth needs to be in the correct position for your jaw and bite and that may be the next bit of refinement?!?
Good luck

Re: Inman aligners
Hi All,
just a quick update.....8 months after treatment for top teeth started I had my replacement retainer fitted today after 2 months of re aligning with the IA.
I feel very confident that this one wont have any problems & that I can now say treatment for top teeth is finally over!!
Had a 9 week set back with lowers & now my dentist will be away until Feb so I am not sure how long before I can say bottom treatment will be complete??
All the best to everyone

Re: Inman aligners
So, I am almost at the 1 week point, my teeth are much less painful and the one that needs to move the most is almost numb. I have never spent so much time obsessing about my teeth.
I am concerned that my next appointment is still 3 weeks away and all the gaps between my front 6 teeth have closed, when I floss there is a ‘pop’. I don’t know whether I should just trust the dentist, or go with my instincts. I don’t want the whole thing to take longer!

Hi, I would just trust your dentist. I was also concerned that my appointments were every 3,5 - 4 weeks, while everyone here sees the dentist every 2 weeks. The IA doesn`t need adjusting as the brace contnuously squeezes the teeth. If the dentist has filed the teeth for you it has room to move it will happen:)
I was also obsessing about my teeth - was nearly convinced the brace won`t work and the treatment is pointless. How wrong was I? After 4 weeks - noticeably straighter teeth and nearly done now after 10 weeks.
Just stick with it , your dentist know what he`s doing :)))

Re: Inman aligners
Hi Alina, I too have finished with Inman aligner, most visits my orthodontist did actually adjust mines that's the way it operates, the spring has to be tightened in order to move teeth,he put composite blobs where he wanted it fixated ,mines took much less time than he initially said so its better they do it properly to ensure teeth stay that way. Also filing got done every fortnight too as teeth still slightly shift even with Inman aligner, I even experienced my space disappearing with clear aligner and they are the retainer.
Just it is a lot of money and the orthodontist doesn't make the device he only trusts the labs, so he can't surely say "here, have this, and I will see you in a months time."What happens if its warped , Ill fitting once teeth have shifted. It happened to a friend of mine, the Inman aligner wasn't made properly made, seemed ok to start but thankfully her orthodontist seen her after two weeks and remedied the situation.
Most orthodontist/trained dentists will see you in on a fortnightly basis, for something that works in triple if not more time than our traditional braces, I'd definitely want to be seen frequently. I was just being honest posting my thoughts and ideas as I am finished now and can enlighten people on my journey:)
