Hello Everyone

#1 Post by kennybania »

Just wanted to come on the board and introduce myself. I am 23 years old and will be starting my braces journey in a couple of weeks. I've been trying to do some research and came across this awesome site. I am a little nervous about getting braces since I am an adult and will be working with the public. I've wanted braces for a while, but my family was unable to afford it when I was younger. After some research, I decided to go with the damon braces(ceramic uppers and metal lowers). The orthodontist said my treatment time would be anywhere from 18-24 months. I am very excited to get started and wish everyone else the best of luck.

Hi :) Welcome to the board (and soon to braces!). If it helps, I have clear top and bottom and I've had a couple of people be surprised when I mention them. Even though I've been standing less than a metre from them and smiling they've not noticed them at all (not saying they're invisible but people obviously don't notice as much as we think they do!).

I look forward to seeing you braced and following your updates!

Welcome! I'm 23 as well (with clear tops and metal Damon bottoms) and I've had mine on for about 7 months now. Goes very quick! My treatment time is 21-24 months and I can see it will be fully dependant on whether or not my impacted canine wants to cooperate as to whether I'll finish treatment on time. But good luck!

Hi Kenny!

I think you posted on my intro. Looks like we'll be starting around the same time with the same plan of ceramic/metal and treatment length. I'll be following your journey! Good luck :)
