Nervous about two spacers tomorrow - still not wired

Re: Nervous about two spacers tomorrow - still not wired
I had spacers in for about two Weeks, by the end, I actually enjoyed the chewing on rubber feeling! It gave me relief from the pressure of them. I know how you feel about brackets only, I've got my bottom all wired up, but my top is still in limbo, I've got that thing holding my molars back that extends onto the pallet, so can't eat much at all. Not happy! Just think how nice our teeth will be at the end!

I had spacers in for a week. Found they where quite painful. Could only eat liquids/soft foods :(
I think this was because i have a under-developed jaw and my teeth are squished in. So any movement is quite painful.
Good luck!!

Well today is day 4 with them and still no solid foods yet. I just keep hoping that this isn't the case once I actually get the braces. This is gonna be a long 18 months if so.......

Hello everyone,
Hope you are all well and smiling. Sorry to have been out of touch. Lost a student last week to lung cancer. She was a very young 65, and had quit smoking 35 years ago. Her decline was rapid, and to see her so tiny in the hospice bed was overwhelming. Feel I have nothing to complain about right now. At least I have life and good health and can weather this journey.
Finally had my front incisor extracted yesterday, and my first experience with nitrous oxide, which wasn't the great feeling it had been promoted as, just mildly relaxing. Went directly to the ortho to be wired at last - which took less than 10 minutes! Very sound sleep after 800 mg Advil. Pretty tender lower jaw this morning (feels a little like the mumps). Back in my office now, and just sore in spots - no real pain. It was a tricky extraction and the surgeon was so skilled and confident.
I'm very grateful for my life, my health and all the blessings of life. Very grateful to all of you, of course! Keep smiling! :-)
