Waterpik or Airfloss?

#1 Post by Corrinne »

Which does everyone recommend to be the best cleaner? A Waterpik or an Airflosser?

I find that I'm not doing a good enough job with flossing between my molar bands and they occasionally bleed whan I floss. I've decided to try something new to get my gums into better health!

So which do you recommend guys? Or... Is there something even better than these?! :D

I love my waterpik water flosser. I can really tell a difference in my gums and when I floss...honestly, Here lately my routine will be to use the pipe cleaner in between my brackets, then I will use my waterfloss, then I will floss, then brush. when I use regular floss, I honestly find that there is hardly anything that comes out. I go to the dentist tomorrow for my cleaning, so we will see what the doc says.

I've never used an Airfloss but I do have a Waterpik and I love it. It's great for getting everything out from around the molar bands. I use it before flossing and I hardly find any stuff on the floss. It feels good on the gums too.

I have a waterpik too and it's great. Really helps with the itchy feeling after adjustments!

I love my waterpik. I use it before flossing and there is hardly anything that comes out as if I floss first there still things that comes out when I use the waterpik. I think it will be a great investment!!

I came across an article about waterfloss being significantly better than airfloss.

Thanks for your replies guys, I ordered one :)

I think the waterpik is supposed to be stronger (more effective) especially for braces where food can get stuck in more places than just between teeth/gums. I bought the basic waterpik which works great, but make sure you keep it plugged in. Had it for 3 months, somewhere in there let it sit without charging for 2 weeks and then it was dead. Called waterpik and they sent me a replacement one though! Good to know they're willing to provide good customer service if you have a problem.
