Will power chains ruin my vacation?

#1 Post by Viking »

Yesterday I received my first power chains . The power chains are placed on the left side on the upper jaw and on the right side on the lower to correct the mid line. Right now it hurts like @#¤"¤% and it is really difficult to eat anything. I'm going away for an (quite expensive) trip abroad in a week. Is there any chance that the pain has gone until then, or will it hurt as long as the power chains are there?

I've had a few powerchains now and each time they have settled down within a week. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Powerchains definitely stopped hurting for me after a few days. I am really weird in that I like the pain of an adjustment- makes me feel like things are happening!

I think it all depends...My first set hurt for like 2 weeks....the last ones that I got...hurt for like 1 hr..... Usually though, the pain is really only bad for the first week and then after that...just a little sore.

The first chains I had installed 7 weeks ago didn't bother me much at all; ironically, I had the same wire and powerchain installed last Thursday and it was quite dicey for a few days, but now is much more tolerable (i.e., no NSAIDs required). Best of luck, hang in there.

I can report back that it hurt a lot for about four days, but then it got back to normal. Great vacation too!
