That's awesome! I wish I could have got mine on same day.
If you do get some ulcers, swish with warm salt water, it helps them to heal (or if you're like me, know that you should be doing it, don't and then whinge on here that they hurt ). It only takes a couple of days for those to settle down.
It took me forever to decide that I wanted braces, then it took me another few months to actually decide to go though with it!
How are you getting on with them now?
Well I had a consultation years ago and never went through with it because extractions scared me. Then I really started thinking about it again this year... and had a consultation with an orthodontist at the beginning of the year. He mentioned extractions too so I chickened out. The last couple of weeks I had decided to really look into it and start going to different consultations until I felt comfortable. That one consultation was yesterday and I went for it 100% before I had time to go home and think and chicken out again. LOL. I think it helped a lot that he said that no extractions were needed!
The pain was ok yesterday. I just felt pressure and was able to eat egg and avocado for lunch. I was able to brush and floss no pain. Then by evening.... my teeth were hurting so I just had a smoothie for dinner. I brushed and flossed but holy crap was it hard to floss. I think my teeth were tighter because I could hardly get the floss down some of the really really crooked teeth. I really need to go buy a waterpik. They told me that it would be easier with a waterpik the first week. I slept with a whole bunch of wax in my mouth last night. Not sure if sleeping with wax is ok but I wanted to be able to sleep and not rub my lips raw with the braces. This morning I took off all the wax and brushed and rinsed. I have my oatmeal and coffee ready...but I keep dreading eating it. Not all of my teeth are in pain. It is just certain ones (like the ones that I had a hard time flossing). Oh and they put these blue things on 2 of my molars. I think they are stoppers or something like that. I believe they are to avoid me breaking my brackets since my bite is deep. So with these stoppers , I can't bite down correctly with my molars so I have to try and chew with front teeth... the ones that hurt. Yea... um... what did I do to myself?? I know it will be worth it tho. Just 20 months... 20 months..... I probably need to put a countdown or something.
