Are there any "white wires" that stay white?

#1 Post by jackblack »

I saw a picture of a girl the other day, and it looked like she actually had a nearly transparent wire - like it was plastic or something? I'm sure they are not the fix for everyone but I'm weighing up my choices, and if I could get ceramics with a see-thru archwire that would be great. My teeth aren't that bad but I want them perfect - maybe it's only for minor movements?

My initial few wires were round cross section and unfortunately the white rubbed off after 5-6 weeks but luckily were changed every adjustment, then I moved onto square wires which stayed white a lot longer but are not replaced so often so I've just got used to it being a bit scratched.

I think unless they invented a white metal then the coating is always going to come off after a few weeks, ah well I still think they are much better than a solid steel look.

I have got ceramics with a white wire, I've had mine on 2 weeks and the coating had worn off loads! I think my electric toothbrush might be to blame!
