Re: Inman aligners
Hi Sean Paul, mine are a little pointy too. ive told them i want to consider 'bonding' at the end to make the edges a better shape on a couple of my teeth. They said they would be more than happy but to wait untill the end of the invisalign as i might change my mind once all teeth are straigtht.
Re: Inman aligners
So I have had the Inman alighner in for 7 and a half weeks now.I have two composites on the back of my teeth and two large one the front of my teeth both fairly noticable.Speech has improved alot but I have seen no improvement in the moving of my teeth!! Dentist told me it would take under 13 weeks as mine was a simple case.If anything my upper teeth look worse as he filed a gap inbeetween the overlapping. How long did it take others I am starting to worry!

Re: Inman aligners
Hi Guys!
My name is Kirsty and I just had my Inman Aligners fitted today.
I had fixed braces as a teenager but the aftercare once they were taken off was lacking to say the least - I was given a retainer but no instructions on how or why to use it and no further appointments to check progress etc.
As a result my top teeth have crept back to where they were before and my wonky top front tooth especially really annoys me in photos! My wedding pictures prompted me to take the plunge as I dont feel 100% happy with my smile in them.
I have been told to wear them for at least 18 hours a day which is no problem - i dont have a job at the mo, but not having a job means at least i can wear them all day without worrying about talking on the phone! Once I get a job hopefully my awful lisping will have subsided a bit :-)
Ive only been home for 3 hours since having them fitted and im scared to take them out incase i cant get them back in! Lol I know once ive done it a few times it will be easy as i had a removable brace when i was 9 years old. The dentist did show me how but my memory is rubbish so i'll just have to hope it comes out smoothly!
Waiting for the inevitable sore teeth, pain eating for a couple of weeks, lisping, feeling like everyone can see a huge mass of metal on your face but in reality they cant see it at all :-)
I took a before photo this morning and im going to take one each week so I can see progress - it will help me to remember why im doing this in periods of 'oh god what have I let myself in for' lol
Have read a few posts on here and love when people say how pleased they are with the results :-)

Re: Inman aligners
Hi. i got my inman fitted today.
i was wondering if it's normal for the main brace that goes across the top teeth to move quite easily out of place, (high up or low on the teeth)
it's sometimes hard to keep it in the middle.
Also i'm feeling no pain at all, is that normal also? thanks.

Re: Inman aligners
Just to bring you fellow Inman alignerers some hope - I finished my treatment today!
It's been 6 months with the IA and I'm very happy with the results. I've been smiling all day and keep checking my teeth in the mirror It actually requires some practice to learn how to smile with your teeth showing! Here are some pics of what has happened in 6 short months:

Re: Inman aligners
Don't worry, the pain will (most probably) come! I think I was in pain starting from day 2-3 for about a week. It was pure pain to put the device in or take it out. I was literally crying. So if it doesn't come just consider yourself luckySeanPaul wrote:Hi. i got my inman fitted today.

Do you have any composite blobs on your teeth? I had 2 to keep the bar in place. Helped a lot.
Re: Inman aligners
Hi. yeah he put two in. one on front of the tooth and one behind it.Jasmin wrote:

i was wondering where the smaller part of the brace that is below the main bar should be. should i push that down to below my gums?
thanks for replying
Re: Inman aligners
I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly but in general the smaller bar (which is sort of inside the larger one) goes behind your teeth, over the blob. It pushes them forward. And the outer bar goes in front of your teeth, under the blob, pushing the teeth backwards. Those are the only parts of the brace that I know that should go anywhereSeanPaul wrote:Hi. yeah he put two in. one on front of the tooth and one behind it.Jasmin wrote:

Re: Inman aligners
thanks. i think i must be putting them in right as i'm starting to feel the pressure and my teeth are more sensitive.Jasmin wrote:I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly but in general the smaller bar (which is sort of inside the larger one) goes behind your teeth, over the blob. one more question, is it okay to take them out from pulling on the back part instead of the middle which is how the dentist got it out for me.
Re: Inman aligners
Whatever works for you I guess. I took mine out by first pulling the smaller bar back out of the way, then the back part. I don't think it matters as long as the pieces stay together Just be very careful with the smaller bar, it comes off quite easily and those tiny springs can be very hard to find on the bathroom floorSeanPaul wrote:

Re: Inman aligners
I had my inman alinger the 1st of may and tomorrow the 22nd of may I will have moulds taken to have my retainers made.
which I will have in two weeks ! I was originally told I would have the brace for 14 weeks so really happy I've had such a difference so quickly.
After the retainer I am going to have a bar fitted behind my front teeth to keep them in place.
Really recommend people asking to have wire put behind their teeth it's only a tiny wire but will be permanent retention on your teeth ! Coming from someone who has had regular braces as a teenage always worn my retainer and had 2 more metal ones made after my teeth started moving !

Re: Inman aligners
Izzy that's great news. So have you seen a lot of moment since you began your treatment?
I was wondering if you could recommend me the best way to clean the inman, just until my retainer brite and cleaner arrive.

Hi seanpaul,
The first week I had slight movement the second week my dentist removed one of the composites which he had put on my front tooth and the next morning there had been a lot of movement !
just some info on the problem with my front teeth were that one was sticking out and the other was too far inwards.
The best way to clean them is definitely retainer brite!! I have had a bad taste from my aligner which I don't understand because I constantly cleaned it with toothpaste before my retainer brite arrived I bought denture cleaner and that didn't do anything ! So in afraid I don't have any other suggestions for you until your retainer brite arrives.
I had my moulds taken yesterday for my retainers which I will have the 10 th June.
One thing my dentist did say is that really you should only have your brace out for two hours a day and that's pushing it. He said that in the brochure it does say you can take the brace out for work ect, but this is just to sell it to you if you want quick results think of it as non removable apart from when you eat !
