My orthodontist said it is usually a month per mm, but as my prom is coming up in a month she used a different and more harsh wire to try and pull my teeth together. She said it might close up, which I hope it will considering how my front two teeth cam together after literally three days and the gap there was about the same. The gap is in my top left of my teeth, between the third and fourth teeth from my left front tooth, if that helps:L Everything else in my mouth is sorted after two years of braces, I would have them off now if it weren't for this gap!:O
Also, she said it would hurt and warned me when she put it on, but it hasn't hurt at all! Not even slightly tender! Could it be because I've just come off of the elastics? The appointment was two days ago.
I'm really worried the wire isn't doing anything because I can't feel anything happening!:S
Thank you no sorry if I've put this in the wrong place; I'm new here and really bad at figuring out websites:S
Can a 2mm gap close in a month?

Re: Can a 2mm gap close in a month?
Hello, the wire alone will not close the gap but i'd say elastics should be able to close 2mm in a month. And when i say elastics I mean the type that goes "along the wire" if you know what I mean, I would post a picture if I could but I am not "authorized to post url links".
I had a 1mm gap between my front teeth and when I got my elastics on it closed completely in 2-3 weeks. Hope this helps!
