Ya, get those pokeys clipped and have the ortho take a look at the ulcers--you DO NOT have to suffer--you paid the big bucks!! He is just your employee now!!
I agree with klobird. I've gone in to see my orthodontist for sores at times. Sometimes a minor adjustment can really help.
Silicone wax is my very favorite too. I use a lot of the Macks. Just to clarify though, it is a silicone wax 'pillow' that is used to plug ears... it isn't made of ear wax.

Basically, it is the same as the ortho silicone wax, but much cheaper and you can easily pull the size you need from the larger pieces. I usually get about 3 uses from each piece.
One 'recipe' I had given to me for the mouth ulcers was from a pharmacist. He said it is an OTC version of a prescription. It is to mix equal parts liquid antacid with liquid benedryl. This mixture helps calm the ulcer. If you are having a lot of pain with the ulcer, you can add a third part to the mixture which is something like liquid anbesol. I use a q-tip to apply it. I've had some success with this.
My Orthodontist mixes some doterra essential oils (7 or 8 of them) into some clay for me sometimes. I developed a large tag of skin hanging where sore is this weekend. I called my orthodontist and they mixed up some for me again. I was able to pick it up after work. It helps and the oils make it taste good too.
