Functional Removable Braces

#1 Post by linsey »

Hi I got braces on the 2nd September 05.
I have fixed braces on the bottom and a functional brace on the top. The top brace is to correct my bottom teeth where the four front teeth are alot higher than the molars. I have one serious problem besides the pain I can not eat anything but liquids as I can not use my back teeth to chew!
Has anybody else had similar treatment and if so do I have to live off soup for the next 6 months!
Thanks
Linsey

I have just 'normal' braces ... but for the first 2 or 3 weeks I couldn't chew. I've had them for 4 weeks now and all is fine ... so don't worry, they will settle down and you will be able to eat normal (although soft) foods soon enough.
