Stone420, thanks for your reply. I have duly written down all you suggested. Some dental shopping required this weekend in preparation for the big day! Will keep you posted. You braces must be settling in nicely at this stage.

Yeah things are alot better then before I got braces my teeth where a train wreck
Every tooth has been filled drilled surfaced and 3 surgical extractions and 2 normal extractions
Yeah I was nervous the first time going to my dentist and him telling me that
After I spent 12+ hours in the dentist chair and 1hour and 45mins in the orthodontist
Chair with cheek protectors gauze and cheek retracters in I was a bit nervous
But didnt bother me at all but it is hard to eat anything the first 3days or so
I still was Able to eat pasta and soft foods I know you will do just fine
Start a habit of brushing like a mad man and flossing on the regular
And you will do just fine also follow what the orthodontist instructs you
To do. have a good daygoing to bed...
Cant wait to be able to talk and eat right again hopefully around my birthday

Wow, you had so much dental work done - am sure the end result will be amazing. Getting spacers fitted tomorrow, no idea what they even look like. I believe they are to encourage spacing between my teeth in preparation for the brace going on next week.

They are small rubberbands that go between the molars
To create the space needed for molar bands.
Witch I dont have this time around.im not going
to lie but it will feel like food stuck between the molars
They are a bit annoying and you may some discomfort
Take some over the counter meds.you will be fine
Do try to floss the areas with the spacers also some
May fall out dont worry its normal if some do tell your
Orthodontist that they fell out on their own had some
Fall out when I was in high school this time around
I have all brackets from back to front and top and bottom
Also you may want to get some mint flavored wax
Before next week the brackets will cause sores
And irritation to your cheecks and lips so get some
Lip baum if needed.the first 3 days where hell to get used
To the braces I still have rubbing issues still feels wierd
And im on my 4th week with braces 1 week away from
My first adjustment (november 5th) right after I get off from
Work appointment is 8:40am hope im ready for it.
Hope I can eat that night good luck hope everything goes well
Keep us updated on your progress
Cant wait to be able to talk and eat right again hopefully around my birthday

Ah Stone, your posts are so informative. I'm getting top braces next Thursday, Halloween. LOL I guess I could just tell folks its part of my costume. Anyways, I thought for certain I was going to have to have extractions but to my surprise when i went in for treatment planning, he told me we were planning on keeping everything! I was so relieved because the extraction part was the most troublesome in my opinion. Anyways, at my planning appointment they asked how quick i wanted to get started and i told them ASAP... they said alright, lets put some spacers in. Now I'm sitting here with sore top teeth paitently waiting for next thursday! Wish me luck... :-)

Yah, I'm getting just top next week because I have a "deep" bite and my big ol top teeth would hit the brackets on the bottom if we put them on now. We're going to open up my bite then in a few months I'll get the bottom row.

Tiffatee, looks like we are scheduled for our braces on the same day!! I am booked for next Thursday too. Got my spacers in this morning and so far so good. Just have to be careful with food cause i dont want to pull them out by accident. Its a holiday weekend here in Ireland so I can't go mad eating :-( ah well, will all be worth it.

Hey Tiffatee, 2 days with spacers and they are surprisingly fine. bit irratating at times but not sore and i haven't taken any meds for them. brushing the teeth is difficult cause i dont want to remove them by accident. almost bedtime here so another day closer to my big day. hope everyone doing well.

Hi stone,
I've just read through your post there, good luck with your adjustment, I was always pleased to have a poking wire and aching - movement! I'm awaiting my date to get my ceramics fitted for the second time. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos and the extensive work you've had done, it sounds like yours will be a dramatic transformation!
Anyway good luck and please keep up the posts!
