I had some brackets repositioned today and I snuck a picture of my mouth without wires in while I waited for the dr! Nobody appreciates this stuff like other braces wearers so I thought I'd share. The top was taken the day before I was braced. I'm only 18 weeks in. I can't believe how fast they're moving!

WOW. I can't believe how much difference there is in four months. How much longer do you have to go? Are those Damon braces, or just plain ceramic?

You look great!

Hello!

Very great to see your pictures and progress! Things are indeed moving!
Your arch already seem a bit wider, I think that is because of the crossbite elastics you wore?
I am sure you will see even bigger improvements once you get elastics to close your open bite. I think your open bite has already shifted a bit from the front to lateral (the same with me). I am sure elastics will help a lot to close it.
How long will you have to have the braces on?
And what surgeries were initially suggested to you (SARPE for your narrow upper jaw or another surgery?). I hope they can fix your bite without surgery! (like mine, because we are in the same boat). I think we can be hopeful.
I wish you very good luck with your treatment, keep us updated!

Greetings from Anna

They're 3M Clarity brackets. They look a lot bigger with the ligs/power chain and wire in.

Thanks for pointing out the changes, Anna! You noticed some things I didn't even notice. I wore crossbite elastics for 2 months but I've been in class II and triangle for 5 weeks and she switched me to triangle on both sides yesterday. I've had them on since June 12th, so 18 weeks. My ortho didn't tell me which surgery was recommended, just that to get 100% I would need it.

I got brackets on my back molars for the first time yesterday too. Boy, are my teeth sore this morning!

Hello!

Elastics really do a great job for your teeth!
I also got a bracket on my last molar last appointment! I think it may have to do with fixing the crossbite?
What is the cause of your open bite by the way? (Mine is from thumbsucking....)
How long will you be in braces the ortho thinks?
Once again, I wish you very good luck on your journey to a very nice smile! Keep us posted!

I don't know if my back brackets have to do with my crossbite. One of my back molars is tilted up and there's also a huge gap back there that needs to be closed from a tooth that was removed 10ish years ago. My sentence is 24-27 months so I still have a looooong way to go. My open bite is due to finger sucking as well. I was a weird kid and sucked my 2 fingers instead of my thumb.

Good luck to you too, Anna!

Hello!

24-27 months is indeed quite long, but I am sure the end result will be worth it!
Is the bite on the pictures with your mouth fully closed?
That is funny that you sucked your fingers as a child! But it is a shame that it damaged your teeth, fortunately that will all be fixed now.
Once again, good luck with your treatment. Keep us updated!

Tomorrow is my 6 monthiversary (wow, that went fast!) and I have an adjustment next Thursday. I will post a pic when my chains and ligs are fresh. They're pretty gross right now. Ick!

The open bite on my left side is a lot more closed. I have a stubborn molar in the back that is slanted keeping that side more open than it should be. I'm pretty happy with my progress and definitely kicking myself for not doing this years ago.

Thanks for your interest, Anna! I saw your pics in the other post and your teeth look amazing.
