I'm 24 and I just got my lowers in last week. I am so so happy to finally be on track to straight teeth! I confess that if I hadn't had the option of getting lingual braces, I would have just continued living with my teeth like this. /:

I'm 31 and I've had my expanders (upper & lower) on for about 5 weeks. I'll be 32 when I actually get braces.

I am 54 and will be getting my braces on Dec. 10th. I am nervous as heck!

Got mine at 19, and have had them on for almost 3 months now. Everything is going very well :)

Due to the increasing crowding and shifting I've noticed over the last few years, I am a first time braces wearer at the age of 41. Cosmetically things really aren't *that* bad, but I want to stop the trend before it gets worse. I also have bite issues. In hindsight, I wish I had listened to my dentist years ago when he first started muttering about my malocclusion. If I'd gone to an orthodontist when he first recommended it I would be finished already.

My first round in braces started almost a week ago at age 28!

I'm being a good student and doing exactly what the ortho tells me so I don't have to wear them much longer than expected.

I was 37. It was supposed to help with my TMJD issue but only made it worse. I am now waiting to attempt it again... Sometime this year... Good Lord help me! LOL

19, getting braces this Wednesday.
I feel like my age mainly affected my treatment in that I am getting a palatal expander, which I might not be able to if I got this at a later age. When I was younger, my dentist assured me I would not need braces, and the slight crowding on my lower teeth would correct itself as I grew. Of course, he wasn't an orthodontist, and I'm still not entirely convinced he was an actual dentist because he was horrible at his job, but I still wish I had gotten them at an earlier age. It's nice to be on a forum with plenty of people of different ages who have braces!
Sentence:
28 months in full upper and lower braces, open coil spring for additional alignment space for permanent teeth to erupt, elastics to align back bite, bite turbos, and palate expander.
