Spaces forming

#1 Post by jtsang »

It's been about 3 months since I have my braces on.. At last adjustments, I told the ortho that I noticed spaces forming between a few of my teeth .. He said that's normal? Anyone else is experiencing/had experienced this?

Yes, I also noticed that. And I think it is good, it means that your arch/ smile is getting wider. So I think you should not worry about this!

Normal! A lot of times things get worse before they get better :) You'll likely have spaces that appear and then eventually are gone throughout your treatment.

I have them too! I attribute it to my teeth moving. :)

Also had gaps forming a few months into treatment. My gaps have finally closed completely with this last adjustment. Next adjustment is less than a week away: hoping Ortho will do updated impressions, which will mean my surgery is close...

I have spaces that have opened up too :) Apparently we worry about them later and they'll close really quickly and easily.. at the moment we're just concentrating on my arch.
