Thanks! Do you also have an open bite or crossbite, TheKT? I wish you good luck with your treatment!

Thanks! I also think my ortho did a great job! Hopefully he can improve my teeth even more in the coming months.

I had an adjustment today and I got a class II elastic on my left side to correct my midline, a powerchain on my top arch and my ortho made many bends in my lower wire.
He stresses again that I don't need surgery anymore. My top jaw may be narrow but my molar relationship is good now. I definitely hope everything will turn out well. The estimate is that I will be in braces for another 9 months.

I know it is too bad, but I still find it so hard to believe that I am really fine without surgery.....
My ortho initially said I needed at least SARPE (and also another upper jaw surgery for an optimal result). He even didn't want to make a non surgical treatment plan at first. And now he is saying my teeth will become fine without surgery, I simply can't believe!
I have been very worried about turning down surgery (but I was too scared to go ahead with this, I am sure I couldn't have beared it mentally to go through SARPE, I have deep respect for the courage of every adult who goes through this). And I admit I am sometimes still worried about declining SARPE, didn't I make a mistake by not fixing my real skeletal problem/ my narrow upper jaw?
But my crossbite is fixed now despite my upper jaw still being a bit narrow. I am sure my end result willl not be as good as it would have been if I went the surgery route, but my ortho is happy and confident now that I will end up with a good result. And if both my ortho AND an oral surgeon now agree that I don't need surgery anymore, then I think I must trust them, accept this and have peace with this. Maybe my braces have done a miracle????

Hello!

And here are some progress pictures after having been in braces for 11 months now:

As you can see my crossbite has (almost) gone, the upper molars are not inside the lowers anymore. That makes me very happy!

But for the rest, I don't see any progress between month 9 and months 11, unfortunately, maybe it even got a bit worse, but maybe I am wrong?

My midline is still very off centered. I have been wearing an elastic for one months now to correct this, but I think it hasn't been of much help.... I hope my ortho can do something else about this. We will see when I go in on Thursday!

I had my adjustment today and I have to continue wearing the elastic to correct my midline. And the ortho made some new bends in my wire. He is satisfied with my progress and said again that I don't need surgery (still can't believe it!!!).

Your results so far are great! I have a crossbite, openbite, and overjet, so I'm really inspired by your story! I just got my braces on two days ago, and I'm anxious to start seeing results.
