Worried spots

#1 Post by Tlal23 »

Ok so yesterday while brushing I noticed how discoloured my teeth are. I new I always had one white dot, but looking at this I have heaps.
Is this what everyone gets worried about?
I've only had braces two days so it's not from that, but now in worried it's going to get worse.

Could it be from using whiting toothpaste?

I've noticed the same along the edge of my teeth. I'm in 8 months practically and have been using whitening toothpaste as well. My dentist says my teeth are doing good even after I brought it up to him so I'm sure it will be alright....hopefully!! Good luck and congrats! :)

That's how I felt too! All of a sudden I was seeing all of these new white spots. But honestly, did you ever stare at your teeth as much as you do now? I sure didn't. You start seeing all sorts of weird things. I'm sure they were there before. Or maybe it's something with what they put on the teeth that make them stand out more. I kinda feel like when my teeth get dried out (like the day I got them on.) these white spots get more noticeable... I have this one triangle area of the corner of my front tooth that is lighter and I don't ever remember it before? But who knows.

Yes I am using whitening toothpaste still crest vivid white. The only reason I've heard they say not to is so you don't have squares from under your brackets not being "whitened" . My ortho never said I couldn't though and neither did my dentist. It doesn't even whiten that much. I feel like it just protects a bit better against stains.

Perhaps you have some left over cement, or there was too much pre-bonding primer there. (The pre-bonding primer etches your teeth.) Mention it on your next visit.
