Best Waterpik review LOL! (Read if you want a good laugh)

#1 Post by jamie vs »

K, so today I wanted to go out and buy a Waterpik since I've read it's a must have and my gums are a little swollen so I wanna step up my oral hygiene regimen. Since I don't know much about the Waterpik or how to use it correctly, I started looking for more info online before going out to buy one at Walmart. After some research I decided to for the Ultra cordless but I still wouldn't know how to use it so I went on YouTube and found this hilarious video review.

The funny part starts at 5:49 when he goes in the bathroom to use the Waterpik for the first time. I laughed so hard because I imagined that's exactly how my first time with a Waterpik will also be like lol. I won't spoil it and let you watch for yourself.

Oh my word..... But it does remind me of my nephew using mine for the first time. Looked like a pool in my bathroom

That's HILARIOUS!

(Top tip - I use mine with my mouth closed. I do maybe quarter of my mouth, turn it off, spit, then do the next bit etc. MUCH less messy! And once you get good at it, you really don't need to look at what you're doing.)

((Also, the guy in the video finds it makes his gums bleed. If this happens, start on a lower pressure and work up. Bleeding gums means they need more cleaning! It should sort itself out in a few days of WaterPikking.))

Hahaha yea I found that keeping my mouth closed and pausing to spit works best. It's reassuring to know you do that too, I wasn't sure if I was doing it right. I did make somewhat of a mess though bc I kept opening my mouth to try to aim right. I think I'll be able to aim without seeing after some practice as you said.

Just like the guy in the video I thought "Ima be in here all day" lol. I never thought flossing could be so fun. I didn't bleed but some parts hurt a little like when you're brushing your gums too hard (felt like a pinch). I also think I should buy a bigger unit.

Does anyone else use the cordless Waterpik? If so, how many times do you refill it every time you floss? I refilled like 10 times but then again I was just trying to get used to it :p

Jaime I use the cordless, and I refill it twice. Most times I can do once, but I usually do twice.

Too funny! I do still squirt myself in the face every once in a while if I'm in a rush.

Lol yea it is HILARIOUS that's why I had to share but what's funnier is that even after watching this video my first time was pretty much the same LMFAO! Water flossing is just so much fun!!! (At least the first time)

I really do love it though and it's also helped me make up my mind as to what type of retainer I want when I'm done with my treatment. It seems that the biggest Con of a permanent retainer is the obstacle with flossing but since my Waterpik does a much better job than string flossing, I'm convinced and will be asking for a permanent retainer so I don't have to worry about putting it in, tacking it out, washing it, and safe keeping it.

Ok, so know I sound like an infomercial but really, it's just freaking amazing! I love it.

Haha, I don't have a Waterpik yet (don't even have my braces on yet!) but without this advice, I think I would make a huge mess! Thanks for sharing.

I'm going to purchase one tomorrow. That video was hilarious. I wonder where he thought the water would go?

OMG, after watching this, I don't think I want one now! How can you see what you're doing if you have to close your mouth to do it?

I wonder what bathroom he's doing this from when there's a sign that says "Please flush the toilet before exiting". lol.
