I wear a combo of Moose and Impalas every day. I get comments and it makes me feel really bad sometimes. I had a service person ask me why I had FANGS glued onto my canines :yikes: Then he saw that they were elastics and only said, "oh, elastics...never mind" JERK!!!

Then I've had countless kids (elementary age) tell my that the elastics make me talk funny and could I please take them out. The middle school kids don't seem to notice or care (THANKFULLY)

My husband hates them!

I can't win. I wear them for probably about 20 yours a day when I'm working, but try for the whole 24 (aside from cleaning) when I'm home.

I do feel rediculous sometimes in them, but I know that once I'm done this small period in my life will be forgettable if not forgotten all together.

I have good 'ol Ram! They seem to be pretty darn thick, though I do not know how thick they can get....

It has a cute picture of a ram on the front. I have many, many bags of these! One in each car, one in the Denta-Kit, a couple in the bathroom, one in the bedroom, one in my desk drawer, one in the lobby bathroom storage closet with a tooth brush. I keep finding them on the floor....They seem to get out of the bags and move around on their own! I even saw a few in the vacuum cleaner receptacle. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!! :?

Right now I have Impalas. They are definitely smaller and stronger than the Rams I had two adjustments ago. Sometimes they irritate the corner of my mouth, but most of the time I don't really notice them.
Uppers placed 2/8/06--Inspire ICE ceramics
Lower (stainless) placed 2/23/06
Treatment time: 17 months (estimated was 12-18 months)
Debonded: July 11th, 2007
Next appointment: June 2008 for retainer & nightguard check

I have Impalas but had Chipmunks (and also Impalas) when I was banded shut after my jaw surgery. Now that I'm not banded shut anymore and am just wearing Class II triangles on each side of my mouth, I have to say this is a cakewalk compared to being banded shut!

I may be getting the forsus (sp) appliance to replace the rubber bands and supposedly accelerate the time in them. Anyone else hear of that option or have tried it?
