How much did you guys pay for your braces?

I'm very very very lucky not to be paying a thing. I'm from the UK and I'm getting free orthodontic treatment, wisdom teeth extraction and BSSO, and genioplasty. It's quite hard to get braces as a child on the nhs these days so to get them as an adult I'm very greatful!!

£3001 all in metal fastbraces top & bottom, xrays, moulds and bonded and removable retainers. For the estimate sentence time of 5-6 months I couldnt justify the extra £400 per arch for ceramic!

I'm 27 and had the same issue growing up, parents didn't have good insurance of any money. Now though I have great insurance through my husband, like amazing insurance. I got metal braces on top and bottom, it was estimated around 5,000, but our insurance covered 50%, plus gave us an additional discount of almost $2000, then we got an additional 5% discount for paying in full. Total cost was around 1500 I believe. I also had to get all 4 wisdoms teeth removed, and those were covered 100%. It's been amazing being able to get all of this work done, after spending my whole life being unable to have dental work done. Congrats on your braces!

No insurance. $6800 for ceramic on top and silver on bottom. The ceramic didn't cost any extra. My estimated treatment time is 30 months.

I am getting metal braces top and botttom (3M Unitek Victory Low Profile) and I was just quoted $5,500 on Saturday (where I then emptied my wallet, giving them the first $1,500 LOL!). I am so lucky though because my wife's insurance covers $3k of the total cost....which is almost unheard of. Damn I owe her! LOL

My 4 wisdom teeth removal price was just under 1,000 (didn't get put to sleep)
My braces (top and bottom metal) are 1,500.
My treatment time was quoted at 6 months. I'm at 4 months right now... Bottom teeth are in a finishing wire and top teeth are back down to an 18 round wire.
So total was about 2,500.
I am going to a dentist for the braces which apparently saved me a lot of money.

I will have to pay 7000 €, metall both and 24 months. Insurance will cover 50%, so it's still a lot of money. I hope it's worth it.

Mine were $6280 (Canadian) for ceramic on the upper 6, metal for the rest. My ortho also installed an RPE, but Ontario healthcare paid for the surgery. I think $6280 was before the $250 discount they gave me because my sister also has braces from the same orthodontist. My case is more complicated; my sister did not have to pay as much.

I think treatment time is the biggest factor in cost. My cost is similar to yours and I will be in treatment 28-32 months, similar to you. Most people however are in treatment for only 18-22 months.

Ive had a few consultations and in my experience, treatment time didn't affect cost. I got estimates from 12 months to 28 months and my highest quote was for the ortho I ended up choosing for $6680. And thats for Damon braces, clear uppers, and a Suresmile wire in Los Angeles. The ortho that gave me 22-28 months wanted $5250 for Damon with clear uppers. So $8300 for just traditional metal sounds pretty high
