What's it been... over a decade...? /alanis m./

Hello, welcome back!

I got my internet connection back and I thought I'd drop in here and have a look at the forum... It seems to me that, after a round number of 654 days in braces, I can consider myself an "oldie" now... any other "oldies" here?

As for a short update: I hope to have my braces removed by the end of this year (they were put on Dec. 3rd, 2003, after both second top bicuspids and both first lower molars extracions).

Nothing exciting happened during my absence here - except for having the top left band replaced (OUCH!), having the bottom wisdom teeth banded and second top molars braced (not with a whole band, but just with "tubes"). Which means my top wisdom teeth are the only ones brace-free now!

Not much has changed since I last talked to you, right? I hope I'll have some more exciting news within the coming months :)

Hi,
I guess I am also an "oldie" I got my braces dec 29, 2003, so that comes to 629 days in braces. I am ahead of schedule and hope to get my braces off by the end of december. I was estimated at 27 months (no extractions) so that would mean that I should get them off in March of next year. I currently have my finishing wires and I will ask about debanding at my next adjustment at the end of next month.

Good luck,

Michele
I have Gac In-ovation brackets (self-ligating). I got my braces Dec 29 2003. My estimated treatment time is 27 months. I got my braces off Dec 5 2005 after 23 months and 1 week.

congrats Marta! Your teeth are looking great. We should be getting them off around the same time, I'm so excited and I know you must be too!

I guess I would be considered an 'oldie', I just did the calculations and I've had them on for 1106 days. Fun fun fun

why did you have to have the first molars removed on the bottom? Whey didn't they remove the pre molars like the top?

Looking great!! I am another "oldie" here, as I got my braces in March 2003. And I am still quite a few adjustments away from getting them off, and I still have gaps on the bottom. I will go well over three years it looks! I wish my ortho will start talking about a debanding date! :)
Debanded in May, 2006! Total sentence: Three years and two months. Now in hawleys which make me gag! Before braces, I had dracula fangs in their own rows, and everything else was crooked, crowded, with a cross-bite, too!
