When you just start to feel "over it"

Re: When you just start to feel "over it"
I've hit freaking out mode.
OMG I'm going to have to wear retainers for the rest.........of.............my............life.
What if I get my braces off and I'm disappointed?
What if my teeth move?
Do I really have to have a bonded retainer on the back AND essix retainers? I think I'll hate the bonded one.
Do my teeth look okay? Are they really ready for my braces to come off? ACK!

A friend of mine calls me the Carmex whore. I have that stuff in every jacket, bag, and purse I own... Along with one in my bathroom and one on my nightstand. It seems to be the only thing that helps my dry lips.I must have chap stick and little boxes of that silicone wax stashed everywhere by now....
I'm only 6 months in, and have had a relatively easy experience so far. I have a feeling my "over it" moment is going to come once I'm introduced to elastics.
Re: When you just start to feel "over it"
I don't think I've hit my "over it" moment either, however, there are times when I feel like time is moving waaaay too slowly and I will be in braces forEVER!
Re: When you just start to feel "over it"
Oh ya, I feel you. Constantly getting food stuck and don't even get my started with flossing.. too time consuming! Lol!
Re: When you just start to feel "over it"
I'm only a few weeks in and I'm over it already.

Oh gosh I get annoyed when my kids or one friend complains about flossing.
At least you can do it in like 2 minutes!!!!! LOL!!!
I do not have to wear elastics thank goodness. I do have to get a bonded retainer but I'm okay with it considering this is my second go round, as an adult, in braces. I've now spent $9K on orthodontics (and my daughter might need braces now). I will gladly wear that retainer.
Next appointment on Wednesday...Month 14.
Hoping he will want to more aggressively close this last space instead of letting it do it's thing.

Great thread! I've had braces for 21 months now with jaw surgery in between and I'm finally getting them off in 3-4 weeks. I never got used to them, I always felt self-conscious of my mouth and loathed all the crap that came with keeping them clean. Getting my braces off will be one of the happiest moments of my life.

29 months into my 24 months sentence, really really ready to get these off. Ortho says soon, next apt. in 3 weeks from yesterdays to see how my elastics are doing. He says once that one part is done then I'm "golden"

Once I passed the nine month mark and considered that a pregnant woman would have already had a baby in the time span, I realized this whole process is far too long. I bet in a few decades they'll have mastered this crap and I'll be able to tell stories of how I went through medieval torture back in the day...yes, I want them off so bad!

Re: When you just start to feel "over it"
Not long after receiving my de-banding date (August 13th), I began having strong urges to grab pliers and wirecutters and ripping these things out of my mouth! I've been quite patient all along, but suddenly it needs to be OVER!
