$7,500 for 24-36 months. Braces not on yet but soon, have already paid deposit on them and the rest I pay off in instalments over the next 2 years. I can claim a max back from my health insurance of $2,000 (over a 3 year period, $700 per year).

Canine exposure surgery - $2200 (approx) rebated $300 (approx)

I envy those who have paid so much less :(

In total £2035 for full set of braces plus an extra £300 per arch for ceramic brackets making it £2635 with estimated treatment time of 18 months. The dental surgery set out a treatment plan (not at my request so guessing it is the norm) of £500 when the braces went on plus £250 at subsequent adjustment appointments which suits me! Although I wish it was on the NHS :(

I am in NYC (Things are more expensive here, your replies are depressing me lol) and have no insurance, my total was $7,300. Lowest quote I got was $6,000.

My price includes
Damon braces
Cleaning before and after
Debonding
Retainers (the invisalign style)
ALL appointments during treatment even if treatment goes over her quote of 24 months
Extractions
Propel
Kits (I dont have to pay for wax, floss, toothpaste, brushes, etc they give it to me by the boatload lol)

My braces total cost = $5,800

Ceramic on top and metal on the bottom, mine is a surgical case not sure if this factored into the price or not, but this is the all inclusive price for x rays, molds, etc.

My surgery cost (2 piece Lefort 1) = $4,500 including splint

This is probably the negotiated price that my insurance is paying, since they are covering all of it...since there is no way the cost would be only $4,500 if I was paying out of pocket. I was never told what that price would be, but I'm assuming at least $15k -20k.

As an adult, I keep getting quotes for upwards $6300. It seemed a little excessive to me. I was hoping no more than $5000. Plus insurance companies don't want to help with adult orthodontics at all. It seems like we're on our own. I'm looking into apps like http://www.insurancetoad.com/ to find this type of insurance. I also did some googling and a guy said that you can get it cheaper if you get worked on at a dental school. He actually included a list of schools accepting these type of "patients" http://www.yourhealthplanadvisor.com/Dentalschools.html . But since my case is complex, I wouldn't know if I'd want a student working on me. I hope the list helps someone else whose case might not be as complex though.

I will have metal uppers & lowers and a discluding appliance and mine will be around $4,000 including impressions and x-rays. My regular dentist is doing my work because he is trained in orthodontia, but chose not to specialize in it. Plus I have been a patient of his for many years and he cut me a deal because of this. This saved me a ton of money.

Wow, I feel like I am paying so much less that everyone. I go to a pretty barebones office with not the most professional receptionists, but great techs and Dr. Even agreed to try as hard as possible to not extract. I paid 200 for records, 200 for ceramic uppers 139 a month for 18 months and then 250 for a retainer.

$7000 for a 24-month treatment, my braces are the ceramic ones. My insurance doesn't cover them.

It is. It is definitely not high-end, crammed braces room, no privacy, longer waits, but he said the same as other fancier orthos which was tip molars out ( plenty of bone space, pull in overjet and tip out and straighten bottoms. Maybe opt, most likely not extractions. He is a younger dr, and probably trying to get started with having low overhead. I love it!

The first orthodontist I went to quoted me $5,000, for metal on the bottom and ceramic uppers. That included everything other than the extractions I needed.

The one I actually went with also quoted me $5,000, for metal uppers and lowers and everything else I needed (retainer, etc.) except, again, the extractions.

This is for a 24-30 month case (the first orthodontist claimed 18 months, though) - mild crowding on the bottom and moderate crowding on the top. Insurance covers nothing in regards to the actual braces, but I had partial coverage for the extractions.

I was pleasantly surprised that both quoted me $5,000 - that was what I was hoping for, but I was prepared to pay more like $6000-6500.

My total for my braces is $8,400. This includes everything that is done at my ortho's office and permanent retainers. I believe I have to pay for the regular retainers at the end which would be an additional 300 or so. My case is quite complex. My ortho basically invented a one of a kind appliance that sits in the roof of my mouth. It helped my bite (I can't fully close my mouth when I chew) and helped to move my top teeth up into my gums more and my bottom teeth out. Bad part is that I haven't felt the roof of my mouth in 11 months! My ortho also has his own adult braces treatment system. It's expensive but well worth it as I've waited for 10 years to get my teeth fixed!

Out of braces costs:
Adult Impacted Canine Extraction ($1000 - down to $250 after insurance)
Bone Graft Implant (Not sure what the price will be)

My treatment plan is for 20 months and I'm about halfway through now.

I'm very happy to say that I did pay off my braces back in March. Thanks to $1000 from my parents (even though they could never afford it when I was a child, they wanted to still contribute), $1000 from my insurance, and the rest on my own. It's a great feeling to have one bill paid off and in such a short amount of time!

I'm from the UK and I've been quoted £4500 for 18months+ treament time, and a combination of both invisalign (to correct crossbite) then a cfast fixed brace (to correct overjet/overbite). I'm thinking that's too much :/ But I'm not certain. It includes everything including a 'permanent' fixed retainer at the end and teeth whitening for when the brace comes off.

That is literally cheaper than what my parents were quoted for me in 1997 or 1998!
