question about ankyloses

Hi there.
New to this board and braces.

I fell off a staircase some years ago and my teeth moved around.

Fast forward to llast monday when I got braces.
Its going to take 18 months.

Im worried about ooneof my front teeth. One that sticks out a lot and is goofy.
It isnt sore like ttherest of them while putting pressure on it or eating.
Granted it is the tooth that jjuts out and currently has got nowhere to move. This could be the reason.
Or there is a possobility it is ankylosed?
Is their any way to test this out. I can post pictures if need be.

If one of your teeth was never going to move due to the bones being fused together, this would have been pretty apparent on your panorex. I wouldn't worry about which teeth do or do not hurt at any particular time; it's pretty random.

You may not be feeling the same amount of pressure be a use your ortho is waiting g to make room to put it more I to place. Or maybe the wire that will put that puppy right is not being used in the beginning

He did put two tiny metal tubes clamped around the archwire on either side of this tooth. Any idea what these are for? They are tiny.

They are tiny and are wrapped around the wire, doesn't look like they serve a purpose to me.

Those tiny metal clamps or "stops" are put there to limit the archwire from sliding or moving in the bracket slot of the bracket..... I have several of them on both archwires

On the issue of a possible ankylosed tooth, this would have been raised by both your regular dentist and your orthodontist before your plan of treatment began.... It was one of a "laundry list" @age50 of serious issues I faced at the beginning of my braces(and upcoming BSSO surgery) journey.... As a kid I damaged my two front teeth in a fall too.... I got several orthodontic opinions and before getting braced had the tooth tested by my regular dentist (basically it's a sound test - an ankylosed tooth sounds "tinny/metallic/high pitched" compared to the "dull" sound when a healthy tooth is subjected to the same tapping - there was also a machine test for sensitivity). Fortunately the orthodontist I chose believed that it was capable of movement and he's right - although movement was very, very slow initially, after 5 months and having "Propel" done (see the YouTube video) it is moving

I remember staring at that tooth despondently at the beginning when it didn't look or feel as though it would move.... Just be patient, sometimes some teeth are slow and stubborn... but eventually they will get going

I actually fell 7 foot off a staircase onto my front teeth (mouth open didnt damage my lips at all). My teeth were numb for 2 weeks but luckily no damage was done.
I had x rays but no panorex scan. I did however have a panorex about 8 months ago before I had my wisdom teeth removed). Would they have mentioned it?

It may be moving, slowly, I cant tell yet. But was definitely not sore like the rest although it cant really move much ubtil the teeth next to it give it space so that could be a factor.

I admit it is making me anxious. Im 30 and want braces for n longer than I have to. They are really getting me down.
The tooth towns similar to other teeth whrn I tap it with my fingernail. Although it sounds higher than the one next to it but that one sounds particularly low for some reason, perhaps because its quite mobile.

Lets say it is Ankylosed (I won't find out for another 8 weeks). What would be the treatment options?

I don't want to lose a tooth.
