Here is an update! I am still in the same elastics, my underbite is gone! My gaps are still slowly closing up, but now it doesn't look like a ever lost a tooth ;) I am married as of July 12th! And I am so happy with the outcome of my teeth in all of my wedding pictures so far. I didn't feel self-conscious on my special day. In some pictures you can see my lower teeth, but they are nicely tucked behind where they are supposed to be!

As soon as my gaps close, my midline should be centered, finally! I'm hoping my bite will be next to be aligned, but I'm sure it won't be 100% perfect since I chose the no surgery option. But that's okay! I'm happier than I have ever been smiling... And not having my lower lip stick out so far!

My husband still has his braces on as well, hehe!

Thank you cata! :pinkbraces:

Here's another from today. My face looks weird to me cropped, but not when my whole face is showing. I still have some gaps on the right side (left side in the pic!) then I think my smile will not look so off. Maybe? The Dr. always says it's looking better..... Okay! The no underbite for sure is awesome. It's so weird to feel my teeth how they should be.... It's a strange feeling....Don't take it for granted! ;-)

Hi! And thank you laraa! :)

I went my appt. today. Last month they were correcting an over correction of an overbite. It seems to be much better. Now we're back to closing the small gap where the tooth was pulled. I have an upper and lower power chain across trying to shift things over to correct the midline. I will post pics tomorrow. Progress is amazing! I never thought my underbite would or could be corrected without surgery. My bite though is still not good. I bite on my left side first before my right molars. Not sure if that will ever be correct. My case is correctable, but only too an extent. I'm sure I'll still have issues because if not getting the surgery, like with my jaw locking here and there.i can live with it though.

I do have a question though! Have any of you had a sore throat after an adjustment? It's a sore throat I haven't had before. It's way to the back and only when I swallow. I read that it can be from TMJ like issues, or from jaw muscles being tensed up. Does anyone know? Feels like I'm trying to swallow a sharp rock, rather than a normal cold-type sore throat.

As my overbite closed I noticed I was having trouble swallowing. But then realized I think it was probably due to the fact as my top teeth came in, I had to pull my bottom jaw in more and more to close my teeth properly to swallow and I was swallowing completely different than I had before. Now that my top teeth are pretty stable I don't have that swallowing issue.

Perhaps that is it.

I have never tried a black/white photo. Interesting to see how it turns out.

Thanks for the response. I think that may be my issue. My throat is fine today. So strange! But my teeth HURT! Ouch. Maybe they shifted differently overnight.

I like b&w photos! They make my teeth look white! Hehe. Shadows from the wires make them look discoloration

It does make them look cleaner. I tried one and kinda like it. Just post so many in my forums figured I didnt want to overdo it. I spam this forum with enough of my photos.

It also makes the wires and brackets stand out a bit more I think.

As of today!

Present day. Not symmetrical yet, but he is trying to move
my lower teeth over. I have a small gap still on the right
from where my bicuspid was removed. There's enough room
to correct the midline! (Hopefully there will be better
symmetry, but like I mentioned, it may only be corrected to
an extent because of not having the surgery.

Little by little each adjustment moves things along!

Still trying to center the midline on the lower and yesterday
the Dr. Repositioned a bracket on my lower left canine. The tooth
was being tilted instead of straight up. Back to wearing te small
Elastics after my teeth stop aching! Powerchains are still the devil.

Today's pics:

I still can't believe how it my underbite has disappeared.
I always suggest a second opinion unless surgery is what you enjoy!
My results may not be perfect, but they are better than they were before.
That's what I'm happy with

Thank you! I am still shocked how much my teeth have changed. I really didn't think
it would be possible. Since I took the most recent pictures, my midline has lined up
exactly where it should be. WOW! Now I guess what is left is to close all the gaps on
my lower teeth and put on the 4 final brackets on the far back molars to align all of the
molars. Does anyone else's ortho do it that way instead of using the bands that go around
the molar completely? My Dr. said he only uses them if teeth are being stubborn and are
not staying correctly. I prefer it this way over the first time with the bands. You don't have
to wait for the spacers to make gaps and have extra pieces to tear up your tongue and gums.

Hope everyone had a nice New Year! Here's to 2015! More progress and great brace accomplish-
ments! Yippie!!
