cjfarmgate wrote:Hey Starnepus, what's going on, I assume they had to send it to the lab to adjust it and that it's a good thing as you need it to fit properly for the next stage, hope the 5 days without it doesn't set you back, it must feel really odd without it, gets to be like a comfort blanket almost when you put it back in. Keep us all updated though.
Yeah it means I'm on the last stage when I get it back. The tooth that needs to rotate is being stubborn. The tooth that was the one I hated is being really good :-) They're changing the rubber chain for the bow so next week I have more composite - this time on the front of my 'fang' - I'm going to look amazing!

I'm so worried my teeth are going to move back between now and Wednesday, or that they won't get the aligner back in time - my dentist is going away on Thursday. I already looked in the mirror after 4 hours without it and convinced myself my teeth look worse. Psychological maybe!
I understand now, I didn't have the chain thing on mine at all but the bow you are having is good, hence the reason for you to have composite blobs as this will hold it in the place it needs to be, I think your worry is probably psychological but I can understand that too, I wouldn't be happy to not have any support to hold the newly aligned teeth in place, hope you get it back ASAP before your dentist goes away in the meantime try not to worry, I'm sure all will be fine next week. Let me know how you get on and you will look amazing!! x

Hello all!
I haven't posted in a while as there hasn't been much news, just the first month of getting used to it. 4 weeks in this week and had my first check up today! (Next one not for another 5 weeks... ) Dentist seemed happy with progress, and then I asked to see the original mould of my teeth and we were all shocked!! They have moved so much since the beginning, I can't believe how bad they were before now! Its a great feeling to see the difference.

In relation to getting used to the inman, like people before have said - it really does just happen. Its a gradual process, at the start I wouldn't even wear it when popping down for milk, but today I was wearing it all over town, and asking some poor waitress what the SHOOP of the day was

One worry I had today was the amount of IPR my dentist did - there are big gaps between my teeth now. I'm trying not to look at them and just wear the aligner - hoping next time I properly look they'll have closed up. Has anyone else had this experience?? Please tell me they close up fast!!

Even more annoying she came at me with the drill saying she was just going to file down a bit of my composite, and was clearly filing in between my teeth. I'd much prefer a bit of straight up honesty!

How's the expander oharecr? Can you remove it to eat etc?

Starnepus did you get yours back today?

That's great! It really does get easier. I've mine in seven weeks now and it moved so much in the last two weeks. It was the first time I experienced head aches and found it hard to chew but worth it considering how much they have moved.

First week back at school and I've only managed to wear it for an hour. Still wearing it for seventeen hours a day but even still I'm gonna try more this week. I'll post photos if I can.

Well done Rosiesue, you seem to be getting there, I have had a lot of IPR and have minor gaps between my teeth, this is to allow them to move into the right place so don't worry about it just be more careful when biting hard food with your front teeth! Glad to hear you're finding it easier.

Ooooh yaaaa! I got it back! Look like I've had botox, my face is quite narrow and my mouth is small but with the bow - WOW! Back on 30th Sept. Had a little more shaved. Whatever though, I'm glad I've got my comfort blanket back - it all means progress :D How are you getting on cjfarmgate?

I'm struggling to get this thing out now I haven't got the nice flexible chain. I've got composite on the back of both of my front teeth, quite large blobs actually, and one on the back of the tooth next to them. Is there a 'knack' to removing it with the bow on it, without knocking the composite?? I really don't want to lose any, as my dentist is away for 3 weeks and apparently no-one else at the practice is qualified to do it!

I've composite and a bow and was concerned at the start too but I've been quite rough with mine at times and it's still there. To take it out I push the bow back with my index finger and take it out. My sisters front tooth is made of composite, well the bottom half of it, it's been there for years so that made me feel better about the composite blob staying put!

Great news Starnepus, you'll find it gets easier to to take out, don't worry. I'm back to my dentist tomorrow to have impressions taken for my veneers to be made, so feel like I'm getting towards the final stage now.

Hey Rosiesue, all sounds like it is going well for you. Four weeks in already .. Time is really going quick and it's great that you are already seeing results. Makes it worth while x

The expander is ok, talking is difficult, but i am trying my best to keep it in as much as I can, it is not visible, but I do have to talk a lot at work, and people think I am eating, so I find myself explaining quite a lot. I am hoping this is just getting me ready for the inman!

xx
