Glad you find this site helpful, I certainly have and it does boost your morale to know that you are not alone, glad you are getting on with your aligner and your speech has improved. Well done for taking that initial big step!

Well disappointing news today, after having all my impressions taken for a 2nd time on Monday, the dentist rang to day to say that I have to stick my expander for another 5 weeks. Still not enough room .. So this will be 11 weeks and still no inman! :(

Sorry to hear that oharecr, that's very dissappointing for you. But it will be worth it in the end - its great they are making real space rather than just shaving your teeth down with too much IPR. I've seen a post on here before from someone who had an expander for ages saying as soon as they got the inman their teeth were pretty much straight overnight! You'll have loads of room for them to slide in to place. Try to stay positive! :D

Also tcmn I only see your photos now - your teeth look fab!! Are you getting much more wear these days?

Hi Oharecr, keep smiling it will be worth it in the end, I can imagine how disappointed you were though as I think we all look forward to the next stage to get through it as quickly as possible, but Rosiesue is right in what she says, once you have your inman, things will progress really quickly!

I had my visit to the dentist yesterday to get my "mock" veneers done, my teeth are now straight and I have an impressive whiter smile (quite odd after all this time). I have to go back into town today to collect my new Essix retainer as the old one no longer fits my bigger teeth, feels really strange not to have it, it's like a comfort blanket and had a bad nights sleep imagining that my teeth would be out of position when I woke up!! Porcelain veneers will be ready in a couple of weeks time and that's pretty much it. Felt quite self-conscious this morning but all my colleagues think they are great. Will try to post before and after pics on completion.

Oh no oharecr, that's a bit of a setback but you'll get there in the end.

Cjfarmgate, can't wait to see the pics!

Rosie sue, about 15 hours a day. Had another appointment n he said 4 weeks until I get my impressions and then I'll have Essex three weeks later and then I'll have them for 4. So I still have a while but the good news it's they are moving since I returned to work, thankfully! I'll post pics soon

Looking good tmcn, you'll love the Essix retainer it's much more comfortable than the Inman, having said that, collected my 2nd one yesterday as the old one no longer fits my new "mock ups" and because my teeth are now bigger so is the retainer, so I have a slight lisp back but not causing me any issues though. I have to say that 24 hours without the retainer was hard work and by late afternoon yesterday, my teeth ached so much I had to take a couple of pain killers but as soon as I got the retainer and popped that back in everything felt fine again. I guess it's because the teeth still need to fix themselves properly in to the jaw, just like a broken bone when you have a plaster cast or splint, the more I go through this process the more everything my dentist is telling me makes sense.

Do you upload photos from your phone on to here or is there another way, never uploaded any yet?

Hello! How is everyone getting on? Its been very quiet around here! :)

I was back for an appointment yesterday and she is hoping I'll be done by Oct 31st, 24 days away!! We were aiming for that date all along as I am going travelling in Vietnam for 3 weeks and I thought it would be so so handy to be Inman free!!

She thinks my teeth are straight but like everyone on here I have gotten so critical of minor things in my teeth now! Mainly I was really worried as there were still lots of little gaps from my previous round of IPR. So she said to stop expanding, she didn't do any more IPR and she tightened it up so much that I can barely get it in and out and its agony to do so - but I'm so happy its the final stages!! Back in 2 weeks and it'll be decision time as to whether I can say goodbye to the inman for good, or I might need a clear tray etc. Fingers crossed!!

How are you all doing?

Hi all!!

I'm a newbie here, and I'm thinking about getting the inman aligner. I spoke to my dentist this morning, and she thinks that treatment would take around 12-14 weeks in my case.
This seems fine to me, and so much shorter than the train tracks I was meant to have when I was younger!!

However, I've been looking for reviews, and a lot of the people who have posted review videos on youtube say that their treatment has ended up lasting for quite a few months longer than they expected, like 11 months or so!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if theirs has taken longer than expected? Also, how long has it taken you to get used to the speech problems?

Thank you in advance! :D

Hi I was told round about 4 month for my treatment - I have been today after wearing it for around 5/6 weeks and dentist has said I've only got a couple more weeks to go - I'm hoping to have veneers after the Inman aligner treatment depending on cost as I will still have a slight gap in the two front teeth - my speech was fine after about 2 weeks - still have a occasional lisp now and again but nothing major .
Best decision I ever made - can see a vast improvement already
Go for it you won't regret it :-)

Natttt

I was told 12-16 weeks and was inman free in just over 11 weeks, then had to wear a plastic (Essix) retainer. If I hadn't needed veneers my treatment would be over by now, I had my "mock" veneers done last Wednesday and my "real" porcelain veneers are just a couple of days away - can't wait. It is an amazing treatment, and the speech issue at first is awful, but like everyone else, after a couple of weeks you don't really notice it. I will probably still need to wear my Essix retainer for a few more weeks yet and then will have a wire bonded to the back of my teeth to keep them in place - that's it, job done! Definitely worth the money so go for it!

Can veneers be carried out straight away ? N does having the Inman aligner make any difference to the outcome - I def want veneers when my treatment ends - need to do some research of clinics and pricing ect - good look with ur veneers I'm very jealous :-)
