37yrs, currently on braces and first time in the forum. I postponed my impacted canine exposure because the Surgeon said it's too high up and he may need to extract. I declined because it contradicts what the Orthodontics said before I started the treatment. I was hoping the canine would be moved into position successfully. I however discussed and agreed with the Orthodontics to hold and see if the movement of the adjacent tooth will change it's position with time before giving a go at the surgery.
Hope I took the right decision, or do I need a second opinion? Really confused now :(

Re: Right upper impacted canine exposure issue
I have braces for an impacted canine. I had exposure surgery. If I were you, I would at least try to get the tooth to move with orthodontics before you have it extracted. Mine came down fine, though it's not quite in the right place yet. My surgeon was awesome, though. A second opinion from another surgeon would probably be a good idea.

Hi meg, have you been onto the "impacted canines club" thread within this forum? There are 27 pages of people who are in the same boat as yourself, including me. Might be worth a look to see if that helps with your decision.meg wrote:37yrs, currently on braces and first time in the forum.
