Teeth Getting Worse (9 months in)

I'm seemingly ready to get my braces off (I only have braces for jaw surgery purposes)

But my front teeth have started to form a small gap about 3 weeks ago. I went to the ortho last week, and he put power-chains on, but I think the gap is getting worse. It's a small gap... but I would think the powerchains would help pretty quickly! Is this normal, or could it just be my imagination?

Looks like a little space but your teeth seem to touch at the bottom. It might just look a little funny because of the new power chain. Give it some time. My teeth got uglier for a couple months and now they're perfect and my braces are coming off next month. Hang in there :)
