Thanks Rosiesue and cjfarmgate. I'm panicking now, I only just had the wire fitted behind my teeth but haven't got the plastic one, I was given an option of either. Given that I clench my teeth really bad when sleeping, I knew I'd break the plastic retainer really fast.

My dentist is leaving in 2 weeks too! I hope you get yours sorted soon Rosiesue, will look out for your update.

Any pics anyone?

Thanks cjfarmgate and starnepus! Went back to dentist and she was equally upset that they moved. In an essix retainer now to hold them where they are and the inman lab will decide based on new impressions whether to make clear trays or back to the inman for a while. I really don't mind either way as long as they're straight in the end! Glad it'll all be sorted soon, and then we're going for double retention (fixed and essix) to keep them in place.
Here's a pic of the progress and then that gap! Other than the gap I'm very happy with my teeth though, it will be worth it! :D

Teeth look fab Rosiesue and so glad that your dentist is sorting you out. It will all be fine at the end, and the Essix retainer is much better than the inman, I'm sure you'll agree!

Hi,I'm new here, just finished my top aligner which had an expander joined to it, my teeth were extremely overcrowded and crooked and it's taken 13 weeks but it's amazing how good they look. I was actually wearing it wrong for 7 weeks,it wasn't flush up against my back teeth, dentist should of seen this, but I don't think it made any difference. I had composite blobs too which is no big deal. I now have a fixed metal wire at the back of my teeth and wear my inman aligner when I'm asleep, as a clear retainer won't work if you have the metal fixed retainer.Top teeth are great, now to bottom teeth. 2 days ago I got my bottom inman aligner in which also has the expander joined to it and it is cutting the little flap of skin that's under my tongue. I can't even talk it will cut into it more so I have was on it which is making it bearable, but talking is not going to happen when my aligner is in ! It's so painful and starting to look yukky but dentist is shut so have to wait till Monday to see what can be done.I WILL POST PICS OF MY TOP TEETH and I can't view anyones pics atm because this is my first post and I haven't commented 7 times yet.Anyway I'll try to post the pics

Hi guys, been awhile since I've been on here but I see you getting on well.
I'm getting my permanent retainer fitted Friday being the quickest 12 weeks ever and a month quicker than expected. Really looking forward to that.
Pics to follow later.
